Some questions regarding the Sun.

Post » Sat Jan 12, 2013 12:28 am

Hi all, this is my first post in the Lore section.

Maybe it has been answered a thousand times but if the Sun it's a hole into Aetherius (from where magicka flows) why do we have a day-night cycle?

In the real world it's because the Earth rotates causing during different hours some parts to be lit (day) or not (night) but, if it's a hole, why does this happen on TES?

And deriving from it, in TES, vampires are affected during the day but, being the Sun a hole which magicka flows through, why do they get sunburnt and how come can they stay without harm near other magicka sources  (if that's what harms them (or is it something else from the TES sun?))?

Regards and don't hold back if you have to cyber-stone me  .

To answer your first question, Nirn spins, just like Earth. Imagine that the sky is fixed in place, and that Nirn is spinning. The Sun will appear to move.

To answer your second, well, we don't exactly know why vampires are hurt by sunlight. We've never been given a direct answer. I do remember a thread on r/teslore with some interesting speculations, though. http://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/14g7v7/why_does_magnus_the_sun_harm_vampires/
