Some Screenshots

I've decided what the first mod I want to download will be. A nice quiet farm house in the autumn forest. Love what I have seen of it so far.

I'm pretty sure the third picture is OUTSIDE. That would explain the lighting. Also, if It was a crypt: How would a dragon be able to swoop down and leave those claw marks there?

Just because there are Draugrs there, it doesn't mean that we're automatically in a dungeon. It does look like a crypt, maybe the roof was taken or destroyed?

Its assumed to be inside, strictly because it looks strikingly similar to the nord burial tombs we have seen in Bloodmoon, I guess. Also, not sure where these dragon claw marks are. I do see some grooves on the bottom right side of the screen, but I don't think those are necessarily claw marks.

First Screenshot-the cloudy sky looks amazing, the houses look very detailed

Second Screenshot-the color of the forests leaves look perfect for an autumn forest

Third Screenshot-these draugr are the most undead looking creatures in tes thus far, the weapons look promising

It's a cave. There's a torch off-screen.

The game, in certain parts, look like a mix between Fallout 3 and Oblivion. It looks kind of bleak in some areas. I'm not incredibly happy about that, and I agree, it does always seem gray. Isn't there any sunshine in the game?

The Claw marks are almost directly in the middle of the picture. Look at the back wall, to the left of the Draugr that are lying down in the crypt.

EDIT: Look at the column between the two little burial things. The Dragon Claw marks are on the column.

Yeah, but in general, it seems very grey... or even completely white :P
I wish we'd see more very sunny clear and cloudy weather types. That's my favourite weather :(
It's also when lighting plays off the best.

Sorry, when I look at it, all I see are cravings all over the stone (like one might expect to see in a tomb). I don't see any dragon claw marks anywhere in that entire picture.

I just noticed the corral in the house picture while looking at the awesome twisted tree, it looks to have some very skinny creature inside it (horse maybe facing the camera?, maybe a tall person?)

Oh come on now! Have you played like, any fantasy or DnD-themed video game from the early to mid 90s? Expansive overcast gothic fantasy skies are where it's at. :mohawk:

I do want clear skies, but not if they are like, a glowing solid teal as in Oblivion.

Huh, it kind of looks like Gamebryo, but with slightly better textures and shadows. I'm kind of underwhelmed, to be honest.

These screens just further my belief that this is the best looking game.

Depends on how you look at it :P
I personally agree with you somewhat. I think Skyrim isn't that far from FO3: http://fallout.gamesas.com/images/art/fallout3screens/screen51B.jpg, http://www.pcgameshardware.com/screenshots/original/2008/11/Fallout3_08.jpg

I can tell you one thing though for sure. It's definitely not what I expected Skyrim to look before I saw the first picture. I expected much much more, but that's my own fault ^^

On the aspen screenshot; I'd only wish for roots to be visible.

Great idea!

I am fond of all but the last one. Looks like fallout 3 but with a skyrim hut. I expect the land to change pretty drastically in some areas though and I know it won't all be dirt and rubble. I know there are heavy forests and snowy areas too as well as some lava if I am correct?

I do agree with Hlvr's observation that the textures look...errr...shallow.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the kind or lack of or inapropriate use of Parallax mapping and what not.
Can someone in the know please elaborate?

Probably more to do with screens from a game 5 months out and the 360 version no less.
