some 'seam' problems with better cities or UL?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:56 pm

I sometimes see quite large gaps in the landscape in certain areas, so far most notably just outside cheydinhal and Bravil. It looks like were a seam should be, except the gaps are much wider. Is this an indication I have installed better cities or UL improperly, or is it a known thing that I will just have to put up with?

I used bain installer with both mods, so I am pretty sure it is not an installation problem?

A few of the UL and Better Cities mods require compatibility patches. Make sure you have those installed, if needed. Also, if you haven't, have BOSS arrange your mod list for you. Better Cities is particular about certain mods loading after it does.

yeah I have already done both those things. So I really shouldn't be seeing any seams then? Just to clarify this is my problem and not a general one..

edit - on a completely unrelated note - I recently added the better cities fps patch to my mod list, and then rebuilt my bashed patch with it included. Except now, the Bashed Patch appears green on my saves, even when I try and 'load masters' to resync them. Any idea why this might be?

Define a "seam". If it is a land tear, then it is caused by two conflicting mods used together. If a patch exists for those mods, you're not using it. Otherwise there is no patch for the conflicting mods and you'll have to either pick one mod or the other, live with the land tear, or request a patch. If however it is a break in the land LOD, then that is a land LOD issue, and easiest thing to do is to just ignore it. If an entire cell is completely missing the land, then this is a game engine overload issue. Save, quit to desktop and relaunch the game to resolve.
