some smaller (or even bigger) problems with some quests

Hi,

I'm playing the Austrian version of Fallout New Vegas.
It seems that some bugs occured.

Can you help me to continue (or even start?) the following quests?

Quest problem 1:

Equal and equal:

I collected some evidences in the Silver Rush and in the Red Caravan.
I brought these evidences to Ranger Jackson in the Outpost.
Now every employee of the Silver Rush is marked hostile and starts shooting.
How can I finish the quest "equal and equal"?

Quest problem 2:

I solved a row of quests for the Brotherhood.
McNamara told me that he has maybe more work to do.
He also told me that I should return in some days.
Meanwhile he is canceling the lockdown.

I've been told this a very long time ago.
McNamara is still working on the suspension of the lockdown.
How long does this normally take?
If this is a bug, how do I get the next quest?

Quest problem 3:

O my daddy

I've been talking to the chief of the Great Khans about the alliance with the Legion but the marker "talk about the alliance" is not completed.
I've stolen the diary out of the pockets of Carl.
What should I be able to do with this diary?
There are no new dialog options for speaking to the chief of the Khans, Regis, Melissa, Jerry or one of the 3 Khans in the drug kitchen.

Quest problem 4:

The House always wins II

I upgraded the system with the chip.
I went back to the Lucky 38 and all of the robots went hostile.
Why?
Is there any way to turn them friendly again or do I have to kill Mr. House now?
(console commands?)

Can anyone help me?

I think I've got one more problem.

I've rescued some persons in Cottonwood Cove.
They're named "Wheaters".

Now the "Wheaters" are waiting in the Old Mormon Fort.

I found one more "Wheaters" at Aerotech.
I think they belong together, right?

I get no dialog options for the "Wheaters".
I can't tell the Aerotech Wheaters that the rest is waiting in the Old Mormon Fort and I can't tell the other Weathers to go to Aerotech.

Can I fix this problem somehow?

Sounds like the Austrian version has different names for some of the quests...probably translation issues.

#1 is not an error. You can not do both quests. When you turn in the evidence the Van Graffs hate you. Unless using a mod/cheat you have to either help or kill Cass.

#2-3 I can't help you with. :sadvaultboy:

#4 There is nothing you can do as you completed the quest the backward way. That is, you rescued the family before talking to the dad. However, you should have received the EXP award. I did the same. Found the dad long after I had rescued the family. Apparently the family does not care as the dad is an abusive drunk. I think if you did it the right way you could talk to the dad about mending his ways.

Thanks a lot.

Maybe the quests are named different in the US/UK and the Austrian version.
I agree that this is probably a translation issue.

So I have to kill the Van Graffs.
I thought this is a bug because I had to promise Ranger Jackson that I won't kill them and the persons of the Red Caravan (on the building is a big sign "Crimson Caravan") are not hostile at all.
So I wondered a bit.
OK, I'll go to the Silver Rush and kill the Van Graffs.

I received EXP for the rescue of the Weathers.
It's a pitty that there's no way to bring the Weathers togheter afterwards but that shouldn't be such a big problem.

#2, #3 and #4 are bigger problems for the game handling because I can't continue the "The House always wins" quests as long as Victor and all the other robots in the Lucky38 are hostile.
I can't continue other quests for the NCR or get new quests from the Brotherhood.

Good. 2 solved, 3 still open.

Can anyone help me with the other 3 quests?

Re: Victor/securitons being hostile...have you tried waiting for a few days (in another area, not The Strip) and going back to see if they reset to being non-hostile? Did you do Vault11 before first talking to Mr House a long time ago? Did you activate the Lucky 38 override in H&H Hardware before talking to House the first time?

...from http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_House_Always_Wins possible bugs: (I have no idea if the patches address any of these bugs or not)

When you try to go to the Lucky 38 to talk to Mr. House the robots attack you and the quest fails automatically. This happens if, when you show up on the strip for the first time you go see Benny (and follow the story to activate the securitrons in the bunker) before you go see Mr. House.

when trying to complete part two Victor may not be standing outside the lucky 38. if this is the case and you enter you will be attacked by the two securitrons inside and the copy of victor that controls the elevator with no way to yield. the quest can not be completed if this happens because you will not be able to get to Mr. house without the elevator. the suspected cause of this is killing victor's original copy (the one that fallows you) the only known way to fix it is by loading from before killing victor.

I killed Benny and went to the bunker before I went into the Lucky 38.

I updated the system to Mark II in the bunker and didn't destroy it.

I'm not sure if I activated something at H&H - tools.
Should I activate something there?

I guess Victor has been destroyed before.
In one of the dialoges at the strip he said something like ".....you can't kill me......I'm just somewhere else......"

I did the Vault 11 quest a long time before I went to the strip.

Makes one of these things the robots in the Lucky 38 hostile?
Do I have to kill Mr. House now or do the robots reset after a long time?

Did you destroy the turrets in the room under the Overseer's chair in V11? If so that would explain why the Securitrons are hostile, since they share faction affiliation. The robots down there do not, so killing them does not matter for this.

If you did not do that, then destroying the version of Victor that follows you would do it, although I've never bothered doing so.

You can activate the Executive Override at H&H Tools, however that may not affect the Securitrons in the Lucky 38 casino. It does affect the ones in the penthouse, though, which makes it a bit easier if you decide to turn on House.

Thanks.

I destroyed the turrets and the robots in the Vault11 in the room below the Overseer's chair.
They attacted me, so I destroyed them.

Are the robots in the Penthouse no longer hostile, if I activate the override?
Is there any way to get the Securitrons in the Lucky38 friendly again?
(I think the quests "The house always wins" is aborted as soon as I kill one of the Securitrons in the Lucky 38.)

I also destroyed the turrets in Vault 11. It had no effect on the Lucky 38 Securitrons. I had no problem going in and talking to House. I had cleared Vault 11 a long, long time before entering the Strip.

Guys, I was able to solve the problem with the Great Khan quest "o my papa".

Take the book of one of the desks in the tent of Ceasar.
Then open the console and type in resetquest 00140c3a

Now all dialog options are back again and you can end the quest.
