Some starter mods for morrowind

Post » Fri Jul 06, 2012 7:23 pm

So i'm basically starting a new morrowind playthrough but i'm to spoiled with oblivion and skyrim graphics and playstyle. Ik mean, when you manually used your shield you don't want to go back to the morrowind shield play.

Can you guys name some mods that I have to download to make morrowind better looking (I have heard about MGE?) and maybe a mod that makes the battles a little more realtime.

Also some nice little mods that just make the experience better are always welcome.

Thx in advance!

Well I always loved Morrowind Comes Alive mod. It adds hundreds of npc's to the game world and makes it look more alive that way. Vanilla morrowind has very few npc's in towns.

Morrowind Visual Pack is good for HD textures.

Better Bodies makes bodies... better.

Blocking Enhanced makes blocking manual. Though personally I like the character skill based system more, but that's just me.

MGE allows to tweak the settings past default. You can increase your view distance to pretty much infinity, however in my opinion the fog adds to the atmosphere of the game. If I recall, MGE also makes the game support any resolution, which is nice if your monitor has higher res than 1024x768 (who doesn't these days?) and especially nice, if you have a widescreen.

EDIT: All of the mods should be availible at planet elder scrolls, just search there.

Better bodies, Liztail's Beast Bodies, MGE XE (a must for graphics)

Those are 3 things you'll need to get from the start. Everyone has a different taste in textures (I like Connary's work) and gameplay adjustments so I don't know what to advise.

You'll probably want to install Tamriel Rebuilt since it's just a huge addition to the game.

Hope this helps a bit?

Morrowind overhaul is the way to go. It's an authorized compilation of mods with an automated installer and compatibility already set up.

This just in: Fileplanet just shed Better Bodies, so PES doesn't have it anymore. Someone uploaded it to Nexus, though.

I have no problem holding the mouse button down to block, so I don't use any combat mods, but you might want to check out the WIP "Gratuitous Violence." I don;t know what features it offers, or what is still unfinished with it, though.

Also, my top 10 mods for new players is in my signature, though most of those are in the overhaul.

Have fun!
