hay i managed to find djok's animations but forgot were i got them from lol but if anyone is interested in checking them out as the weapon run anim can be used along side this great mod. i can upload them for you all to check em out the weapon run is a much needed improvement now i love with my weapon drawn hehe

Please do upload, if it's OK to. I'd suggest a new thread for that rather than hijacking Dirnae's.

Dirnae, your animations are great! The walk and run both look way more natural and not like everyone has a stick up you-know-where. :P This is one of those changes to the game that I would refuse to play without, even if I install no other mods.

I haven't polished some of these animations up properly yet (the attack animations needs some editing, and the walk animation was done quickly), and I've still got to do the thrust animation, but if anyone wants to try out some one handed animations, then here they are:

I'm thinking the chop needs to be less diagonal and more vertical, and the slash needs to be more diagonal.

The run and walk will affect bows and thrown weapons too, they use the same animation (so for example, djok's 1h sword run would also be used with bows, blunt 1h weapons and thrown weapons), however I think I've managed to get a decent run which looks good with or without shields, and with all the weapon types. Feel free to criticize as usual, it's an early version so it'll no doubt be changed a lot before being finalized.

Also, I'm thinking some steps in the attack animations could be good, though I'm also thinking that when seeing these steps over and over, if it isn't done properly it'll look too artificial.
What's your opinions on this?

Looks more like he's been shot in the back, and then told to place the hands above head :P It probably looks better on NPC than it does in these cubes.

Actually I fancy this attacking animation a lot, really looks like he's trying to hit as hard s possible. Walking also looks good. Great job!

I was recently sent this, and it's really cool, though looks a bit dodgy with bows and thrown weapons imo. :shrug:
If we are ever able to add new weapon anims though, it'd be nice to attach it just to swords, axes and maces.

The original thread was locked however so I'm not sure we're allowed to discuss it, and if it is fine, it'd probably be better to make a new thread.

I just want to express my thanks for your walk replacer- I use it for both male and female, and I love it. It's really nicely done, Dirnae. That goofy wide armed swagger is gone, and Vvardenfell is better for it. :D

Glad you like the walking animation greenwarden.

Bahamut, I think it was because of suspicions about it in the thread, or at least that's what I heard.
The animations would be crapper than the originals anyway, due to lack of blending, crapper skeleton, and crapper models.

Let's not talk of this anymore, it was locked for investigation, we shouldn't be discussing it here.

I remeber the thread and i spoke to some mods about it. There was some confusion as to why the author didnt post the mod himself. They smelt something fishy and havnt heard anything form the author since.

EDIT: shortened my post by alot to keep it from interering with this mod :)

this is true so i wont say anything more about it :) Lets keep on track. So far you have done running, walking and combat animations right? Any chance of cahnging the staff animations at all?

Staff Animations are the same as spear animations IIRC. Two handed wide animations I think?

I'll probably be doing those after I've finished up the 1 handed animations (spears are my fav weapons), which'll be a while yet.
I'm experimenting with steps in the animations in the 1h attacks atm to exaggerate the attacks. Seems to look good. So I'll get those posted up in a few days.

Also I'm making a new 1h thrust, just a standard dagger stab.

I've been enjoying the last iteration of walk/run animations for a while now... having one-handed walk/run to match is great.


But what really knocked my socks off were the attack animations! The side slash is by far my favorite attack with this in place; I always thought it looked bad how the right-handed weapon would be drawn further to the right, rather than to the left, like this one does.


Great job! New animations are just so exciting =)

Very nice animation Dirnae.One question.Are you going o do the stance as well for 1 handed?.If so maybe a crouch like stance with the left hand a little up in front as if the player is holding a shield but yet make look more natural for a one handed stance.

Dirnae these animations look amazing! I LOVE that slash attack! I was worried about the chop at first, but it looks great too in the video!

I can't WAIT to try these out when I get home! ^^ Can someone post a video with a bow as well?

Also, I recently downloaded VirtualDub so getting Fraps into Youtube has just become super easy... expect more videos in the future!


Here's one of the animations being used against you. Note that I am also using djok's one handed run over top of Dirnae's stuff (no offense meant -- I really like Dirnae's stuff but the other one-handed run looks great with swords). It seems to blend really well with the side slash Dirnae has put together.
