[RELz] Some Stuff

Video (running animations have changed since this was taken): http://s647.photobucket.com/albums/uu195/mark507_album/morrowind/animations/?action=view¤t=Dirnae_animation_pack_1.flv

Download: http://www.4shared.com/file/137384239/e0451c0f/Dirnaes_Animations.html
Extract the Data Files folder in the .zip to your Morrowind directory, I suggest using 7zip to open it, some people had problems using other programs.

It's a walking and running animation, you'll need Liztail's animation kit to use these.
You might want to use the walking animation with the .esp included, or the NPC's will walk too fast, though it's completely optional.

Thanks to Bethesda, Liztail and the NifTools team, this wouldn't exist without them.

All of my animations are free resources, do whatever you want with them.

Just tried it out in-game and it looks nice -- thanks for the upgrade! And thank goodness for LizTail's AnimKit, so easy to get this running.

Sorry, I haven't got a video, I haven't got time to get round to recording one atm, maybe later.
If anyone else wants to make a video, that's fine, but tbh, I'm not bothered if only a few people dl it, I don't really like getting too much attention.

i think it looks good. i have videos in a moment so you can compare old vs new.

edit: gave up, youtube refused to convert it (a normal FRAPS video)... Windows Media Encoder "stopped working" when i tried to convert it.. I guess fraps is using some really osbscure encoder or whatever because those videos seems impossibe to convert.

Here's a video a threw together:

Not too bad for my first YouTube video I hope, ended up rather dark and choppy compared to the source video file but I guess that's something I'd have to tweak.

Thanks a bunch. :D

Just to clarify about the run though, it's not meant as a replacer, it was meant for an Orc hunting team I'm making for personal use, it's kinda goofy. ^_^
It was based very loosely off of the sprinting animation from Monster hunter, when you're being chased by a wyvern, and only looks good at very high speeds, though there's not much of a resemblance I guess at low speeds, and needs a lot of tweaking.

It looks really funny on my orc, though I'll reduce the swing if anyone wants to use it as a replacer.
Also, this was made mainly for male characters, for female characters, I suggest you grab Axel's sixy female walk.

P.S.: Your first Youtube vid is a hell lot better than mine.

Edited the video with your clarification, though to be honest, I don't see it; this is a great step up from the original animations (especially the walk, which looks far more natural than the base animation).

The way I ordered it with AnimKit (from top to bottom) was Axel's female walk -> Dirnae's Walk/Run -> Base Animations, allowing everything to work together. Thanks again for the release!

Thanks for the video. :)

I still wonder how it looks like when carrying weapons though.

Yeah I know it doesn't look much like it, I can't take stuff from other games, so I had to make it from scratch.
And I svck big time at Biped animation, this walk animation isn't really that good. I'm better at animating creatures than I am at Bipeds, just seems to click more with me.

edit: Povuholo, doesn't replace weapon animations, it's the same as Axel's. I never got round to them, I've pretty much just released this unfinished, because I wont be continuing with it.

Oh, no, I hadn't meant that it did/didn't look like the particular animation you were describing -- I actually don't know the thing you were talking about -- I simply meant that whereas you said it might have problems / look funny I thought it looked a lot more natural and was definitely a step up from the base animations.

I've got another video converting currently that shows the walk/run with weapons, but as Dirnae said, it should look exactly as you'd expect given that the other animation files are the same. Should be available in a little while on YouTube.

Edit: "Duh" moment, my video showing weapons is deleted, as since that animation wasn't touched obviously it is just the vanilla animation :banghead:

The walking animation looks really nice, although the running animation is, as you said, goofy. But still, thank you ever so much for the Walking Animation! :)

No prob, I'll see if I can get a less goofy one tweaked later.

I'm glad someone else started an animation replacer, with better animations in the works, I can get onto a much funner project I've been wanting to do for a while. :shifty:

I think so. I definitely hope so.
It was locked and deleted over something, though from what I'd seen, it just looked like a misunderstanding.
If it has been cancelled, can someone please pm me?

Any news on the Dagoth Ur animation?

P.S.- I know this is the wrong thread for that, but Dirnae is active in this thread, and so he is more likely to see it.

I've got animation problems concerning all my creatures atm, I've been focussing on solving them, but with no success so far.
When I do solve them, expect not only a Dagoth Ur animation, but an interesting WIP thread and a new sea crab for TR.

Yeah, there are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9Nz7h_rvgg&fmt=18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsIQhzqINRs&fmt=18, I thank Mireneye for favouriting the second, else I probably wouldn't have seen them. ^_^

And Dirane, that animation looks wonderful, it looks so natural! :)

I already said, that thread was closed and deleted.
Don't talk about it here, do it in pms instead.

edit: And Sunrise do a lot of good animes, Inuyasha, Gundam, Code Geass for examples.

Oh, oops, sorry, didn't even know they had started a thread.

After seeing the video, the only real suggestion I have is making the arms sway a little more.

Tried it while testing, didn't like how much they swayed so I lower it.
I'll see if can get a good compromise, though I'm not too good at animating arms. I'm very good at legs, but arms, I need to practice with them more.

That isn't really what I meant, what I mean is that the arm movements look rather robotic, and stiff, but you could make them sway to the sides a little more, to create a subtle realistic effect. I love subtle stuff.

I know what you meant.

It's subtle atm, hence you not being able to notice it much. I'll make it more noticeable.
It was originally more drastic, but one of my testers disliked it, didn't match the rest of the animation or something, so I lowered it.
