Some of the bards...well...svck

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:13 am

Exactly this.
The people who complain about this are exactly the same as the people who complain that all the npcs don't look like super models.
I agree.

I love how the races are all unique, but to me they are attractive in their own way.

I thought it was pretty obvious they intended to give the bards a cheesier feeling to them. It isn't a sold out auditorium they're playing for; they're basically the old-era version of street performers.

Find one post of mine where I rate the attractiveness of npc's in this game, the closest you'd find is how much of a massive improvement it is from looking at the faces of Oblivion.
It's not even the same thing, the complaint here is bards a specific job, allowed to work in places of business not thrown out, aren't very good. Not that every single npc doesn't have a size 0 waist and massive cleavage, see the gaping difference? Ones realistic and to personal taste anyway and the other is just someone doing a bad job at thier JOB. Next portrait I pay to get done I'll accept it being subpar because not every single person in the world can paint that well.

Except bad street performers that know 2 songs will quickly be removed for being a nuisance, failing that make no money for the day and not be able to afford the time spent there.

Fact is all voice acting could use a little help.

I don't have much of an issue about key. Keep in mind they don't have real time pitch shifters like today. It's supposed to sound live, and it does.

Not like this at all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2uqcQDmy9w

as a sound engineer i find your comment amusing :)

I'd like to know what music he/she listens to to think that Malukah isn't good. My gosh, maybe he's as tone deaf as the bards.

I HATE singing. They say one line, pause for 5 seconds and go on! If that was fixed, I would have zero problems.

lol thats how those types of songs work. A bard is really just a professional speaker or poet that will sometimes sing their poem

maybe for the ghost in the we have to stop from coming back to life, she would svck without the echo, papa roach, hail the villan, god smack, saliva the lead singers for any of these bands would be great though

That girl on youtube isn't that good at all. With all the sound fx and echo she makes herself sound good. The bards aren't that great though I agree.
THIS!
I thought I was the only one who doesn't like her edited voice.

What a lot of you don't understand is that if you take away all of those effects from Maluka's recording she would be just as banol as our in game bards......

People just like this chick because she is hot.

Lets hear her sing without the affects, then I'll decide if I like her singing.

Cause all famous musicians sound good without autotune or other editing software.

No wonder, the Bard's College doesn't even teach you how to sing or play an instrument

Of course you would svck at singing if instead of practicing, you spent your time collecting instruments for other people

You do know that there have been good singers for hundreds of years before the invention of any kind of voice-editing software, right? Heck, most high schools have at least one or two students in the choir with great singing voices that carry great songs - a shame the sound technicians can't reciprocate that level of skill in their jobs.

Interestingly, the Spanish version of female bard speaks her lines rather than singing. All the other versions sing.

As for Malukah, the only way I'd use her voice as a replacer would be without any additional effects. Seems like she'd sound good enough without...though, by this point, I'm a bit tired of hearing it - people link and link, usually without any background other than "This is awesome! You should watch it!" like the ES version of a rickroll.
