Someday the nanosuit may become a reality

This has been in the news for a couple of years but apparently research is ongoing to create an exo-skeleton that enables the user to carry much heavier loads without strain in military and industrial applications, as well as enabling the disabled to walk. Lockheed, a military contractor, is one of the developers.

Wow amazing stuff. I remember hearing about this years ago, but its awesome to think it'll be a reality soon. I'd estimate that in 10 years or so we'll have something pretty close to a Crysis Nanosuit (minus stealth and bulletproof, of course).

The exoskeleton that's undergoing research has nothing on nanosuit from Crysis though... What's under construction is more of standard powered armor route, where user wears something akin to small robot-suit. To put it bluntly, it's designed to be glorified forklift that you wear instead of drive. Nanosuit from Crysis is in comparison so advanced with cellular integration of who knows what, with life support, AI assistance and all that other snazzy bulletproof, super strength and invisibility that you get to abuse in game.

They are just worlds apart.

I think if enough research is put into it, we could have a Prototype Nanosuit in the next 50 years. Canadian scientist recently successfully created a working invisibility cloak.
