Someone recommend me a good, low-end graphics card

Post » Sat Dec 18, 2010 9:45 am

Currently my computer is only using integrated graphics, and while I see my self possibly looking into building a new one within the year, I am looking for a cheap card to get me by for right now. Again, my price range tops out at around $100 (there is a little wriggle room if the difference is there). I am just looking for performance on lower end games like WoW and such. Games that if possible I would like to play are Diablo 3, Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, and possibly stalker, though that last one seems like it might be a stretch. Well, if anyone has any suggestions for me and possibly an example of the power I can get out of it I am thankful.

I don't think no lowend card is going to play Diablo 3. Do you mean Diablo 2? I am not up to date anymore with what is good, great and what not, but basically going into a store like Future Shop or Best Buy, what ever they are selling for under $100 (make shure you have enough for taxes so that $100 card can be $120) should be able to run you WoW (since it's what a 5 year old game, not so sure about the expansions though) and Vampire The Masquerade- Bloodlines with no problem. Diablo 3 on the other hand, will not run the greateast for you but if you ment Diablo 2, then no problems at all.

I think you will be ok, but I would wait a bit more, there is alot more knowladgeble people here, just have to wait till they wake up. :)

That is low profile so will fit in your case, meets your PSU requirements and is better than/= to my current card and I can play all those games on medium to high. Well I don't know about Diablo 3, but the others. So you should be able to run them semi decent with that and it's only $80.00

Don't be afraid to go with an older generation card.

This is similar to the card I'm using and it can run just about anything on moderate to high settings at a decent framerate.

From what I've seen, people have been saying that the 9800 GT is stronger than the GT 430. Is the card low-profile like the other? Apparently that is something I need to worry about considering the computer case I am using. I know, I don't know diddle about computers.
