Something crazy just happened...

Post » Sat Jul 13, 2013 4:22 am

Im like wtf I don't know if its a bug or ... ok just listen

So Steam sales is up and the first thing I do is head over to buy dragonborn since its 9.99

My credit card data was saved so I hit purchase and it gave me an error like : your purchase could not be completed please try again later but all the while I see the download bar starting and I checked the Skyrim Data Files tab and Dragonborn.esm is there.

I enter the game, I fight the cultists I go to Solstheim... WTF I got no email to announce me of my purchase? and in the DLC tab on Skyrim it shows only Hearthfire and Dawnguard and High res pack.

So wtf is going on?

Again:

-no purchase mail from Steam

-Dragonborn dlc is not showing in the DLC tab on steam

-Dragonborn.esm appears in Data Files

- I went to Solstheim

Please help im so confused

Did you check your credit card/bank/whatever to see if the purchase went through? If not, then enjoy the free DLC??

Friggin Bethesda's online purchases are buggy too. Vehk's sake! lol.

If I was you I would have just be quiet about this and enjoy the game. :ermm: This could be an exploitable backdoor to either Steam or YOUR bank account. Eyes and ears are every where. Might as well have this topic deleted.

Like people said, check your account to make sure you're not getting any "weird stuff" out of this otherwise fortunate occasion.

Erm, same thing just happened to me...

I tried to pay with the same CC as usual but it was denied. (Worst timing just as the steam sale has just started.) I then see steam is downloading something for Skyrim. Thinking it was a patch I came to these forums to see what's up. I then see the OP's post and think "WTF?" I check my data files and sure enough there is Dragonborn.esm.

I haven't checked and played it yet but am about to now...

Edit: Yup, it's there alright. Within minutes of loading up an old save I was attacked by cultists. Yet Dragonborn is still sitting in my shopping cart in the Steam Store...

I should be happy but I feel pretty crappy actually. After all of the kind help and support I've recieved from Steam in the past I fell like I've ripped them off somehow :(

When did this become a Steam site? Shouldn't this issue go to them?

I've already contacted Steam about it.

Now I'm just here to share a story :)

Don't complain about free things.

If a vending machine gave you two bottles of soda would you go around reporting the problem? No, you'd be happy you just got a free soda.
