Something I don't really like about the map..

What I don't like is that it is confusing to see where you haven't been yet and I want to explore new places. Morrowinds map was good about this because it was a blank brown map and wherever you went it turned green...

...locations are spread pretty evenly all around the map, so if you see a piece of it without any icons, chances are you weren't there yet.

I spent more hours than I care to admit in public, patiently uncovering every single cell on Morrowind's map. It was almost like a mini-game for me. Yes, that was a great map.

Haha, I did the same (Solstheim included).

Yeah, Morrowind did a lot of things right, which are sadly missing in the next games, but this is not one.

At least local for the local map.

Hint: Bring on the local map. (By pressing L in PC)

yeah i find the 3d makes it hard to judge distance without a lot of panning around. i'm going to be on the lookout for a 2d map mod after the patch is released.

Don't know if you know, or if you are on console or PC, but on PC, you can manipulate the map to a top-down view which makes it easier to see. Left-click and hold on the map, then move mouse. Wish there was a setting to leave it like that, and remove the clouds.

yeah i'm on pc, i'm aware that you can change the angle of view, it's still a pain though, it would be good if it just stayed like that all the time, instead of a default 45 degree angle or whatever it is.

pretty sure theres an ini tweak that lets you remove clouds. i haven't used it yet, i find they cover some of the low res ugliness of the map.
