Something I feel fallout 4 is lacking

Post » Fri Dec 04, 2015 11:36 pm

After 100hours of game play there are something in the worlds I feel they are lacking:

* slaver - in the chaotic world such as wasteland it is reasonable there will be slavery
* cult - the only cult right now is child of atom but in previous one we have more like cannibalize and vampire. Not sure is synth hunting/saving consider one
* vault - in compare to previous fallout the vault experiment seem to be much less evil and crazy
* random encounter - maybe I am missing something but I don't remember any random encounter on road (not counting random spawn). What I mean is something like Talo company got a bounty on your head, or some quest giver traveler like in Skyrim
* evil option - sometime you can be a jerk but almost every decision seem like good guy option. I kinda miss some evil option in fallout 3 that I sold the kid that I just saved to a slaver

What do you guys think?

These were good points really. Maybe they will be fixed in dlc. Fallout 3 was really scary, visiting those abandoned vaults was pure horror when playing late at night. Perhaps its the bright color palette. Otherwise, wonderful game.

I expect people will make all kinds of random NPC encounter mods (same as they did for Skyrim), which will add to the game.

I'm looking forward to all the amazing things people will be making, this game will be huge once the modders can start creating properly.

B) You'll like the DLC

but you don't think the endings are....you know, evil enough? it takes a kind of mentality to go through the stuff you do.

you're not necessarily a good guy...imo anyway

Choosing side is not evil, they just have a different opinions. Evil is something like cannablism or slavery or murder someone purely for greed

I don't want to be mistaken for a die hard defender but I'll disagree.

thats why there was a Karma system in the previous games, Evil is subjective. you do what you have too

For the billionth time, there is slavery in FO4. The gunners are slavers and even sell child slaves. Im surprised you didnt get that quest in 100 hours but with the amount of content its possible.

As far as cults go there is also the pillars of the community. I agree though that there should be more and they should be crazier.

The experiments in the vaults were pretty messed up. You have:

Spoiler

Vault 75- Children being separated from their parents(who were later executed). Vault tec proceeded to experiment on the children and force them to kill each other.

Vault 81- Vault for exposing people to diseases and seeing if they could be cured.

Vault 95- Pretending to rehab drug addicts only to give them drugs and make them kill each other over them

Those seem pretty evil to me.

There are not random encounters when outside of towns but NPCs will often give you hints on where to find quests out of the blue(without you talking to them). Not the same thing but its close.

Cant really argue with the last one though. There isnt many evil options in the game other than straight up refusing to help or resorting to violence.

I have the survival guide...and it lists the random encounters..fairly long..and so far at lvl 35 I remember coming across only 1..all it was, was a guy and his daughter sitting by a campsite..

I find myself missing the karma as well...I try to be as rude as possible, and no one seems to care..like the guy I met at some farm wanted me to find some locket for his daughter I think...I told him his farm looked like [censored]...all he did was turn away ending dialogue, I was able to engage him again and talk like nothing even happened..

Agree with cults and slavery. Definitely need to be in the game.

Don't see much "good" in killing though, regardless of how rational you make it out to be. Killing someone to take its place is almost never a good thing. So I feel the ambiguous morality system is fine as it is, instead of holding your hand with bells and whistles.

Vault 75 is pretty [censored] up. It's probably the most [censored] up and evil vault to date.

I hit 100 hours today (already...jesus man that's depressing) and I only experienced 1 random encounter. A group of wandering settlers were burying a dead friend in the middle of no where, and each of them said their goodbyes.
The fact they were all named "settler" really killed the moment though cause they all said each other's actual name like "Tony anything you want to say?" It's the little things that Bethesda seems to lack this game.

It is all a subject matter!

Even if there is no "evil karma" in this version, the game still puts judgement on you with companions, for example try feeding the old grand MA while the robot companion is near.

"If you break your girlfriends heart, because she is a pain in the butt, that is both evil and a relief."

The game actually don't judge you for doing settlement construction while that according to its story is a negligence of your duty as parent to find and protect that kid, you were responsible for at the beginning. but it is evil.

Slavery is an illusion when you need to glorify your actions as a savior. When it is not enough to blow heads off and you also need reasons for it, that's one. Maybe you won't find slavery in this version, but there'll probably be others to make it just as entertaining.

The real world is getting smaller and smaller, because most people live in compartments, so there is less and less space to build. Why else does it satisfy player to do "constructions" in games like this version? It's different, but probably needed.
