Something Important To Understand

Post » Thu Mar 03, 2011 6:14 pm

I just want to point something out.

The bunches of players that are coming to these and the splash forums are, in my mind, a really good indicator that the poeple who have bought this game, WANT TO LOVE IT! They want it to replace the other games on their list. So many people on both forums have created accounts to ask the Devs to add something or change something, at least this shows that the players are interested in the game. I can easily see Brink becoming my all time favorite MP game, but there are fixes that are needed.

My major Gripe is the MPs lack of a intuitive party system.

Aside from that i am really enjoying the game, i come from Lost Planet 2 so i really love games that are different.

But i just want people to remember dont blindly hate on Brink, lets play nice and give Splash at least a chance to get things right. I do think its important however that splash lets its fans know they are doing something about the lag and lobby issues. Just leaving the player base in that dark is not a good idea, and will tick off A LOT of people.

Most importantly dont go around yelling " BRINK SUX BAWLS" all this is going to do is damage the potential playerbase. So if you want to love this game like i do, show some love

One problem I'm seeing a lot is that most people seem to either ignore all of the games flaws and defend it until the end or act like trolls by just wildly insulting the game instead of simply stating the problems and perhaps suggesting solutions.

Too much love: "Everything about the game is perfect! Greatest ever! If you don't like the AI/Customization/ then leave!"

Too much hate: "Brink is the worst game I've ever played! It's worth no more than $15 or $20, and everything about it svcks! Everything! I hate Bethesda, and SD, and will never buy another game from either of them again!"

Just right: "I enjoy the game as it is, but I'm a little disappointed. I feel some of the things could be better, and this is what I think could be done about those problems. I hope the problems that there are will be fixed soon so that this good game can be a great one!" OR "I don't really care for the game, and this is why. I'm glad others enjoy it though, and maybe if the problems are fixed I'll enjoy it! I hope the next Bethesda or SD game that comes out will be better having learned from these mistakes."

At this point with the little post we got from Paul Wedgewood, i am optimistic about the future. At least he is aware that there are still some things that need fixing. I would like to point out, if your trying to play online play in the advanced or competitive matches, there is "relatively" no lag in those.

Still would like to hear word on a party system, but im ok if the developers take it one step at a time.

Ya when the die hard fans meet the skeptics who see the glass half empty, things get nasty.

Yes, while I may gripe about the lackluster AI, overall I still think the game is a quite lovely experience. ^_^ It's unique and I LOVE the concept
and general gameplay and classes and stuff.

I mean, there are some things here and there that could be updated/patched/fixed/etc, but I want to give the devs a chance to address
and give them support to make this good game even better! :tops:

I love you.

Seeing nothing but what you want to see is not good. For the growing population of young gamers $60 is a large investment. Not to say that $60 isn't a lot for people of other ages, but generally an advlt with a good career who makes a lot of money can spare $60 every now and then, and if they aren't pleased with their purchase it isn't a big deal. However, a student (like me) who is having serious trouble finding a job isn't able to afford extravagances like this often. When you have to decide between food and video games, food wins, and when you spare what little money you can on a game and it's disappointing it has a larger impact. I am therefore more inclined to like this game, because I feel obligated to. If I don't like it, then I wasted $60 that could've been spent on something else.

Seeing nothing but the flaws is also not good. Are there flaws in this game? Yes. But if you focus so much on what you don't like you'll never be able to see what you do.
