Hi guys. As you may know, Amazon is doing a release day delivery for Skyrim (in the US). However, that's Veteran's Day. Does the post run on Veteran's Day?

I would laugh if it didn't. At least everyone who pre-ordered from them has a chance to switch it if the usps doesn't work that day.

They'll probably use another shipping company like DHL ,UPS, FedEx, etc. if USPS can't do it on that day.

2011 U.S. Postal Service Holidays

This is the U.S. post office closing schedule for 2011. Most U.S. post office counters should be closed, and no regular mail delivery made on these dates.

Friday, November 11, 2011 - Veterans Day

@Top killa
Don't those companies generally cost more for shipping? For 99cents, it sounds slightly unlikely.

Likely. Amazon stuff comes just as frequently through UPS as it does USPS to me.

Edit @ IMayRoam: I figured it was.

I don't see why they would go out of their own way to do that. It's probably going to be delayed, ironically.

Since they claim to have it delivered by November 11, it'll probably come November 10 if the post won't run (and I didn't consider the cheap price possibly indicating USPS).

I have no idea I don't use Amazon. I doubt it costs alot just to ship a game and amazon probably gets discounts (or better deals) from those shipping companies.

Isn't there some sort of clause between retailers and the companies whose junk they're selling (not that Skyrim is junk...) stating that they can't sell the object in question until the date of release has arrived? I mean, HP isn't the same as Skyrim, but there was a big stink about some retailer who may or may not have sold/delivered copies too early. Makes me think it would arrive on the 12th if USPS is doing the delivering.

Oh, ok, that makes sense you don't know the regular prices. Standard shipping (5-9 days) costs $3.99. Anything quicker is going to cost close to or over $10. Which is what makes me hiiiighly skeptical that UPS or anyone else would deliver for less.

From what I read on Amazon, it seems that they ship the game on the 11th, and it is also supposed to arrive at your house on that date. At least that's what I got out of it. :/

I would definitely do in store preordering just in case. Looks like if you order offline it won't arrive until Saturday, November 12th.

I don't live near any store I could pre-order it to (unless you can do it at Wal-Mart). The nearest GameStop is 30 minutes away.

And just to be sure: ALL retailers are giving you the burlap map in the pre-order, right?
