it was a small island just out in thr niben bay, and on it was the burnt out ruins of what looke to be a lighthouse!

Indeed, stuff like that really motivates me to roam around the countryside

Well, I indicated in the "squeezing juice" thread that I have only played just over a year (700 hrs over 2 characters) so there is a lot of content i legitimately have not experienced yet. No need to squeeze. I just installed and furnished Battlehorn castle last week, but my intent was to spend the week exploring the Jerails and hang in my wizards tower near Skyrim. I decided to let one of the castle knights accompany me, but I became distracted as we left the castle and followed an npc who was off-schedule. We wound up near the Ayelid ruin Wendir. I had never seen it before, and decided to explore it. The Battlehorn companion was equipped with a bow and hung behind me sniping enemies that were off in the distance. During one encounter, he retrieved an enchanted sword that dropped during battle, and I became impressed with his skills... and kind of attached to him as good company. Then,... we entered the Wendir Negasil. There was a floor spike trap that had about 4 magical undead (liches, something... not sure). Totally out of character, he charged at them and became lodged on the trap with the enemies. The trap went up and down as they battled feverishly. I positioned myself close to the trap and spammed the knight repeatedly with restore health spells. It was a very colorful, awesome battle that lasted about 15 minutes. Finally, I could hear a groan which I knew was not good. As the trap returned to the surface, all of the combatants lay there deceased. The trap kept rising and falling, and their dead bodies did the havok physics thing each time it reached the surface. It was a very weird visual, and sadly impacted my character's memory of that companion. She continued through the ruin and scored tons of cool loot including tons of welkynd stones and an ayelid statue. I was so impressed with Wendir, that I consulted the wiki after the fact to understand what I had actually just done. That is when I learned about the associated quest. That will never get done. My character carefully decorates Arborgate/Choral with all of the precious loot from her adventures and is already planning the placement of that statue in her home. And in that companions' honor.

Then..... she stumbled out of Wendir totally "winded" and feathering all of her loot. She had to fight off a lion, and ended up in Hackdirt. She already completed that quest, and totally cleansed it some time ago, but decided to re-enter to see if anything of value had re-spawned. She was upstairs in one of the dwellings, when 2 hackdirt bretheren appeared out of nowhere hacking and slashing. Scared the x@#^ out of her, but she pulled out her fire enchanted dagger, and preped her custom stacked fireball spell to put the 'murda' on them. All of a sudden, it seems like they multiplied and it was like 7 or 8 of them in the room screaming and yelling. She had no choice but to summon her faded wraith, and dissapear. She kept this up, and never laid a hand on any of them, allowing the wraiths to methodically dispose of the threats. Finally she left, attempted to gather her thoughts and tried get back on track.... towards her wizards tower and close to the Skyrim border. That is where she wants to be this week, but she continues to encounter and experience new content in oblivion that is delaying her progress. I am sure that will continue to be the case after 11/11 when Skyrim will mysteriously open on her map. But, that is a good thing, very enjoyable, and a compliment to Oblivion which will continue to be played concurrently for some time to come. So much undone and un-discovered. No squeezing required.

I rarely ever get a character over 15th level so it is actually the high level enemies that surprise me. The Land Dreugh shocked me the first time.

Years ago I stumbled upon that HUGE mudcrab at the bottom of that cave.
It was a really cool moment and I hope that Skyrim also has something like that.

Haven't played Oblivion for a while and explored everywhere at all! So it's basically all new to me with Telina! The best bit, is that I am playing with OOO installed, meaning monsters have fixed levels. This makes it so I cannot explore certain caves until I reach a much higher level, which ultimatly means I unlocked more of Cyrodiil as I level.

So no, I am not 'squeezing juice', I am exploring this game which I've had for about 6 years (and played it throughout) for the first time. However, I fear, I only have until Friday. I won't make the same mistake and look online for all the answers this time!

I went wandering in the far west side of the Imperial reserve and found an incredible little mountain and ayleid ruin which gave stunning views. It was amazing, I'm surprised I've never come across it before.

I went mountain climbing up in the Jeralls yesterday and found some nice views across the border into Skyrim. I went up the trail from Dragon Claw Rock to the Oblivion Gate, and just past it, climbed until I got to the top directly over the O gate. Then I made my way to the right until I was on the border a couple of wordspaces to the right of the word ‘Mountains’ on the map, NNW of Dive Rock. It may be easier to get there by following the border from Dragon Claw Rock up the valley to the same area. Don’t know, haven’t tried it. The weather changes quickly up there, from snow, to ice fog, to bright clear. Didn’t find much game, just a couple of bears.
