I`m thinking of a new style for the Slavers, currently they look like raiders.

I was thinking that since Kaiser is like a slaver/pimp. He should have a Suit, so I made http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/4024/newsuit.png .

Then I thought, if he`s dressed like this his boys should be in suits too. Just regular suits though, probably retexture them to be blood soaked.... Any thoughts/critisisms?

Attentater5 has says he has almost finished with the dialogue/quest. That shoots us up to about 90% complete.

Just the scripted events, a few more tweaks to do, certainly fix the navmesh and its all done!!!

I`m exited for an Alpha playthrough.

I wrote some dialogue between Kaiser and the player, Attentater5 has asked to edit it, so I`m not sure exactly how its going to go yet. But it was bothering me that he didnt have a voice.

If Sesom has the time to generate the LIP files and would be willing to do it within the deadline.

Would anyone with recording equipment be willing to record the lines of Kaiser? Can be in an American, British or German accent...... Preferably a German accent talking like an afro-american gangster stereotype.

If not, its no big deal. It`s probably fine with just dialogue. I just want this to be as professional as it possible can.

LOL. then the screen can just translate? oh, but my sound might have been too much work to clean up, i forgot. eek. well, if you would like, i can be last resort hahha.

There was a tool for Oblvion you may be able to use to rid yourself of the esm dependency, I can't remember, was it tes gecko, or tes snip?
Anyone remember?

I've been testing the same version you DL-ed. I've come across a few minor goofs as well. But since I have my son running around atm I'm not really in a good position to elaborate just now... I'll post a comprehensive test report this evening -I hope, my son's energy levels pending..
I haven't had it crashing upon going from an interior to an exterior cell, and I was doing that a lot! -I think it might be a little too difficult :unsure: kept getting my ass kicked :(

the catwalk stairs that goes around the outside exterior needs some tweaking.. and maybe a few more guardrails laid out.. -I fell off a few times, most embarrassing..
also, Puffy's character didn't have her "hair on" and was walking around with a huge red on her head..
the screens that close off the toilet bucket corner seems to "trap" a few raiders in there whom then become very difficult to get rid of

I really, really like my staircase :D

Also, from a design point of view: I had put in all those window frames on the outside, with "Black planes" behind them to make the window look black. It doesn't seem to be working for me, all I see are the empty window frames with the wall showing behind them.. Not my desired effect.
Any ideas what's going wrong in that department? I looked at the "black plane" and it didn't seem to wanna be black, just transparent :/
If it can't be made to look like real windows then I would just as happily do without, since the window frame by itself doesn't work for me.. Also, getting rid of them will save memory :hehe:
When Attentater is done with the scripting, I'll give it a full service going over testing, and I'll fix the above (although the missing hair has to do with me not running the hair mod and the meshes somehow being misplaced I guess...)

No problem if you are ok with a german accent, i can make the recordings and the lip files. You can hear my voice and the recording quality in my mod "Friendly New Neighbours" (i did all characters which are voiced yet) or in the videos i made.

I never had any issue with crashing BTW, interior or exterior. It hasn`t ever crashed even once for me at all and I`ve ran the mod a lot, so I`m not sure whats going on there. As Andy suggested, may be something local to your installation only. (I hope!!!! lol)

@ Old_Andy, My bad on not mentioning the Hair, it no big deal. It falls under the catagory of one of the other tweaks left for me to finish. I didn`t want Puffy to have to download and install the Hair pack or the Eyelashes herself, so I took out the master dependancy and just havent added them back in to our ESP yet. Just ignore the fact she has a red triangle hat for now. I`m trying to make installation simpler for her.

The exterior windows, they look black in GECK, but they have Alpha enabled in-game. Theres a model for Dirty glass in my Destructible mod pack that would look good if you want to use that instead of getting rid of all the windows, it`ll get some really nice reflected sunlight effects then as I gave the glass high specularity texturing.

@Yevic, F03Edit or F03snip can remove master dependancies, but then so can GECK, just highlight the master in the data loading window and hit `delete`. We cant remove The Pitt master dependancy from this mod though because it uses a scaffolding resource from The Pitt.

@ Puffy, Yup very soon you`ll be on one knee. No changing you mind now. lol

It's my fault, not Skykappa's. When I made the building I used Pitt catwalks on the outside without realizing it, and when I was done I kinda went -oops, this won't be a problem, will it? Puffy puppy said shr had the DLC so I went ahead with it :hehe:

And I'll also take care of the few details I mentioned.
I'll also look into the navmesh some more, no promises though :unsure:
One bright spot: I think the navmesh warnings are due to the way navmesh is linked from one exterior landscape cell to the next. When I look at the navmesh there are these green beams that seperate the different cells but seem to connect the different triangles together and where the building was put it seems that this 'connector' isn't connecting parts of one cell with the adjacent cell. As far as I can tell this only has relevance for NPCs and companions who will then seemlingly for no reason walk around an invisible barrier instead of following you directly..

wow, you guys. if we were all local, i would throw parties for every step in the process, or to mark every big hurdle that has been overcome. or just,...a party every weekend lol. i don't know. i just feel like a party, now. after the latest reads lol. i wish i could throw you all a project party. GRRR! where is Trump on drugs handing out cash when you need him?

i am so excited about the accent for the pimp! and the discoveries and the problem solving. tonight i have to get ready for comic con by means of the art show. :)

Yeah I know Kaiser is unkillable, its just because the set essential flag is active. I haven`t make a new faction for slavers yet for them all to be a part of, so I was finding that when I went to go look at thim, he`d been killed by the raiders, so I just set him as essential in the mean time. No need for Bug reports yet Buddy. Wait until alpha when we all think its done. Theres`s lots going on there that could be called a bug, but its just that mod is unfinished yet.

I like the Spiked Bat too. IMHO the game should have one anyway, that`s why I made it. I take it you couldn`t resist having a go at him them? lol Player gets to have the Spiked Bat if they kill him.

If Attentater5 sends me the esp when he and Sesom are done (thanks again guys), and you do everything you want to do at your convenience, Windows, exterior Navmesh ect. I`ll combine the 2, add a few more things that I have planned, then its Alpha phase time.

Thanks Andy for all your work and effort. And if you do manage to find time to add in the windows, I`m sure it`ll add a whole other level of visual awesome to your already fantastic building.

You could try posing in the GECK forum about the Navmesh error? Someone must have come across it before! I would do it myself, but I doubt if i`d understand the answer lol.

I read forum threads like most people watch tv, and when I started reading this thread (the first one) I was quite entertained. A group of modders working together to a final very worthy goal, well that, and it kinda ballooned out of proportion with the mention of "you could do it in paradise falls, but I've got this skyscraqer that you could use...." and with all the rest of the stuff, this is turning into a mod I'd wanna play rather than it being just built for this one proposal situation. If anyone needs help testing it, or anything else I'm willing to try and help any way I can, my main skill being google-fu (the ability to find anything on the Internet using the right google search terms, usually in a matter of seconds) but I'm a quick study. I love fallout 3, have all the dlc and would do anything to help this project succeed.

You've got to be [censored] kidding me.

I just spent about 21/2 hours finalizing the quest itself, as well as creating the radio station, and quests/scripts associated with it. I realized (with some horror) that I haven't saved yet, so I hit save.

The GECK crashes. I lose all of my work.

Honestly, I don't want to work on it anymore today. I'll get back and hopefully finish within the next 2 or 3 days.

Unless... does the GECK have some sort of auto-recover function? If it periodically makes backups or something, I can have it uploaded later tonight.

Look in the ...Fallout3/Data/Backup folder. There should be some backups if the geck is in standard configuration.

You still havent beaten Andy tragic record though!

I highly recommend enabling the 5 min Autosave option in the GECK preferences though. Since I discovered it, I swear by it.

Did you forward your re-write of Kaisers lines to Sesom to record?

how sad, i am so sorry Attentater5. :( i want you to know that i appreciate the work that you did the 1st time around and even moreso, the stuff that has yet to come, because it has twice the "umph" behind it. wow, that is so tragic. maybe it's just karma, and that was left over from a past life, and now, once the project is over, you will win the lottery or something to make up for it. i hope you all win lotteries.

tuesday is our 2 yr anniv. so i am going to his house tomorrow, spending tues. with him after he gets off work and then going to work the next day. i told him i will have part of his anniv. present for tues. ;) the other half while we are at comic con. so i am just preparing the ammo box as a "care package" kinda knick-knack collective gift. i'm falling asleep at the computer after having done bottle caps lol.

Redoing the windows I came across something.. It's one of those "beautiful from afar, far from beautiful" kinda things. It looks ok from a distance, but pretty crap up close because you see the outside structure through the glass..
Something else, the LOD cuts out when I'm only about 500 meter away from it, and the building disappears.
For reference, if I'm standing next to the ruined church, the building is not visible. When it ought to be visible all the way from Jury street Metro...
Still working on the navmesh...

Andy,

That means that you don't in fact have a LOD to show (which is why it cuts out). Or if you have generated the LOD, something is foul with it.
