I have noticed that about 75% of the time that Niamh ends up actually engaging a bear in combat - (rather than sneaking up on one and just killing it) - the game crashes...
It can be with lone bears or bears created by Spriggans.

I have unfortunately not got a lot more information than that, so this probably isn't much help, but I thought I would put it out there anyway...!
