The water to be clearer and have more mobs, and maybe the ability to fish?

Yes, the water needs to be way more clear, like when exploring that lake in New Vegas. Also, no ridiculous underwater fighting (swinging a sword underwater as fast as you do above).

The only problem with fishing is it's easier to just jump in and kill them yourself.

Yeah, like in my thread I wanted some fish that don't bite, you know? There can't be ONE species in the whole of Tamriel!

And in response: No, you shouldn't be able to swim down and kill fish, since they are way faster than you. That's why I'd recommend some kind of fishing feature.

I'd like them to finally add waves where it's appropriate :turned: . Making water clearer would kind of make it look unrealistic. And adding more mobs only makes sense if there is a lot of water bodies you'll encounter in the entire game. Not so much in Skyrim though.

I'm all for fishing - it's cool to have another non combat orientated activity in game, and will add to immersion greatly :) And I would love some non aggressive water live - some bodies of water should be dangerous (open see), while other (small lakes for example) perfectly safe.

Careful. I've found that proposing revolutionary features such as this usually comes with a disproportionate backlash on these particular forums.

Soon, for instance, you will see people arguing that clear water is not what 'TES is about', and shame on you for trying to impose your clear water idea on people who don't want it. You're obviously less of a fan of TES than they are if you can't look past opaque water :turned:

You're thinking within the elderscrolls paradigm in which there is only one type of fish that inhabits the water and its incredibly hostile.

Everything is up for change. If fish darted away when you entered the water, it would be pretty awesome. There could also be hostile fish too. There's a morrowind mod i know of called Abot's water life -- it adds tons of mundane fish to the sea, though none of them flee upon seeing you.

In terms of water, I believe there should be an under water blur when submerged. I also think that there could be more tesselation and noise which would result in more detailed waves and ripples.

Also, who said all water had to be blue when you go under it? Farcry 2 has brown water, and swimming under it feels quite real.

I don't see why you'd think you're alone in this, I hope the game has more underwater creatures too, because I've always found the seas of the Elder Scrolls to be too lifeless, I want to see more life in water, both of the hostile and non-hostile variety. One type of crab and one type of fish just isn't enough, although horkers seem to be confirmed, still, we could do with more variety, I think. I'm not so sure about fishing, though, I mean, I wouldn't object if it was in the game, but it's not really high on my list of things that I really want to see in Skyrim either. I suppose it's one of those things that would be kind of nice to have, but not the most major thing I hope to see, for me.

Some water should be muddy. Can't really see far below the surface, can barely see 3 foot in front of you when submerged in it... would make swimming a bit scarier, if there was always the chance a predatory fish was going to leap out from the murk in front of you and rearrange your face.

Yeah it makes sense that you would be able to fish. I've found fishing rods in Morrowind before. I wasn't saying i was against the idea or anything. Also i might check out that mod you mentioned and see what it's like.

Don't worry friend. I was trying to break your way of thinking (that it has to follow from Morrowind + Oblivion), I knew you weren't against it. :)

I wasn't talking about " DERP 100% CLEAR dERP Water" I am talking about the "Better Imperfect Water mod", also, the clearness for the water should be affected to what it is near, and where it is.

Or electrocute the water. It was cool how in Starwars Battlefront 1, you could throw a grenade in the water and all the fish would float up afterwards. The same type of effect with a Bioshock approach to electrocuting water would be cool.

Yes to fishing!

There could still be hostile sea creatures, but non-hostile ones as well that can only be killed/caught with a fishing pole.

Derp 100% clear water is my favorite!!!

Seriously though, clear water makes sense for the Niben bay and such but some things just have to be murky like a run off river. Now some rivers in Skyrim will most likely be clear.

Making spears and knives the most useful form of underwater weapon would be cool.

And yes, having those fishing poles do something would be nice.

I agree that the water should be made better, but I didn't like most of the watermods I tried in Oblivion. They made the water too clear both looking at it from above and diving in it - like there was some sort of faint blue fog that turned gravity off.

 Never thought of it. But it's true : slaughterfish, that's it. Fancier aquatic forms would be nice...

Also : I'm all for fishing. But I want fishing poles, or if it's too hard, baits and nets, at least. I can see myself spending ten hours game on that, easy.

Actually, that would be nice.

It's just that it isn't exactly very high on my personal wish list.
