I just joined the Companions, and finshed up 'Trouble in Skyrim', just before you go on a quest with Farkas. Thing is, every time I'm in the same cell as he is, he pulls his sword out, runs at me and initiates conversation regardless of what I'm doing.

As I type, my character is now standing outside with Farkas, ready to go, but he keeps trying to initiate conversation while drawing his sword out. I've done the Companions before with another character, and this had never happened the last time.

What is this? Why is this happening? I've just reloaded the file to see if it corrected itself.

Pay off ALL of your bounties.

You have committed crimes against Skyrim and her people.

Well, I do have bounties in the Rift and the Pale, but I don't think that's causing it. I'll clear them up nevertheless. Don't know why Farkas would give a damn what I did far away from Whiterun.

Just reloaded and tried again. Farkas is still doing it.

Well, I'll clear up bounties to see if that will help.

It's the bounties, trust me. This a known bug. Farkas and Vilkas are listed as part of the guard faction.

Right, I've cleared up one bounty, and am now clearing up the other. Thanks.
