"Son of Skyrim" Fanart

Post » Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:32 pm

Hey guys,

I recently did some Skyrim fanart and thought I might share it here. In fact, I started with this when the first pics of Dovahkiin were released. I never spent so much time on a picture before, but I had a blast painting it. Now I understand, that working at Bethesda must be the best job in the world.

This is my planned first Skyrim character, btw, some kind of Nord scout. :spotted owl: This might change, though, because the Khajiit seem to be quite good looking this time, too.

Anyway, I'd be really grateful for any kind of feedback. I know there are some Character Art Devs here from time to time, and professional feedback would be friggin cool :).

I hope some of you enjoy, I know I did when I made this.

Cheers!

Omg, this is incredible! You've got some talent, that's for sure! Amazing! :foodndrink:

I love this! my advise would be to sharpen some edges! With paints it can sometimes seem undetailed that is why i always paint having my face pretty much stuck to the canvas.. that way i can garantee a really detailed finish because if it looks detailed close up its going to look insane real from a distance. But i'm a fan! :)

no its not a stupid question, first because i have used both, the only difference is that photoshop looks cleaner, its faster, and its easy, in painting you get toxins into your lungs, you cant use the redo button, its takes for ever, but some people like the style, and other use it as a destressor, oh and painting is super expensive.

Firstly, nice job with the art, I'm no critic, though.
Secondly, it is indeed a stupid question.

HOLY CRAP! you're an amazing artist :D
Definitely going to be my wallpaper.

If you want some critique the only thing I would say is the sword hilt is a bit plain compared to the rest of him. But that is my entirely unprofessional opinion.

Wow! The best Skyrim fanart I've seen so far!

That's some real talent you've got there, make sure you continue drawing Skyrim fanarts, this one really looks great :tes:

And the hands are great btw, I have heard that they are the most difficult part to draw, and you did them perfectly!

Wow man this is great work, you have done a great job.
My suggestion would be to try overlaying textures (like photos of metal and stuff) to enhance the level of detail. But it looks awesome as is.

This is top notch. Please submit this to http://bethblog.com/index.php/2011/04/15/fan-art-update-2/ as official fan art. Let them know it's a physical piece because they are absolutely fanatical about this kinda stuff and might very well like to see this hanging in their studios.

Lmao that's hilarious!
