Song that has to be in Fallout

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 1:44 pm

Maybe as an underground radio made by raiders. I mean on drugs i would definantly think of some of that stuff and. Really there are no more musicians in fallout? Damn shame

Well, I would like for loads of unknown/indie artists to write original scores just for the game, they should have either a post-apocalyptic feel or 40's-50's-60's feel (or just both) and only be played on instruments you could play in the wasteland, that is no electric guitars or synthesizers.

- Fallout would get new, original music. Music that have been recorded by people after the war, creativity never dies.

- It would probably cost less than licensing songs from famous artists like Elvis (the reason why Elvis isn't in Fallout is because it's too expensive to license a song)

- Indie artists would have a chance of becoming known, fans that dig their score would look them up and maybe buy their music and they'd get royalties from the game of course.

Win/win situation, I'd say!

They could always, say, hire Trent Reznor to make music for FO. Instrumental.

He could make next Fallouts soundtrack/ambience instead of Inon Zur or Mark Morgan! :D

Yes that is a win win situation. Love that idea never thought of it. Rhough have some old songs from people already known.

I think that song is from 1967, so it wouldn't be used for Fallout. The songs used in Fallout are ones during or before the 1950s.

Also a topic just for one song? seems pointless to me.

Edit: I don't mean songs from the 1960s can't be in Fallout. Personally I would like songs by famous people that were famous before the 1960s to be in Fallout. Early 1960s would be the best. I was attempting to point out that the history of Fallout's music selection doesn't bode well. To bad I didn't just say that in the first place.

Songs from the the early 60's are in fallout. the version of "Blue Moon" is Sinatra's 1961 version and "Ain't that a kick in the head" is from 1960. Like you said it's probably a bad idea to go past '65, but some early 60's stuff fits quite well (before psychedelic rock and such started to emerge).

ELVES?!?!?!? In MY Fallout?!

Yeah, I know you probably meant Elvis and the answer is simple as to why there's none of his music in the game - the license for any Elvis song is too expensive, so they thought it would be better to have a bunch of other songs rather than one single Elvis song playing all the time.

This is a reply to the whole 60's music delehma that people were discussing.

It would fit and has already have early 60's entigrated so i dont see why no Rolling Stones, (asking to much here)Beatles, and assorted 60's rock groups

Elvis would be nice and on the other hand impractical a better choice would be a poser of him that sounds somewhat like him and did what he did but have subtle differences. Copyrights svck! Im moving back to russia

The thing is we have to keep in mind very famous musicians like Elvis, and covers on his songs, are very expensive to license.

That is why I like my idea, hurrrudrrrrrr (of course I do, everyone likes their own ideas) - to hire unknown/indie artists to write original scores for the next game.

Best of both worlds here, listen up.

There is some form of concert and one of the people preforming is like the kings in an elvis deciple. He dresses and sings like him but sings his own song and his voice is done by an indie artist:

Given the possible location of the next Fallout being Chicago, how about My Kind of Town by Frank Sinatra. "It's my kind of town/ Chicago is"

I can assure you they'd never put in Justin Bieber or Britney Spears. It's more likely they'd put in that dubstep [censored] they did with Syndicate and Saints Row the Third. Guess it's ok with Saints Row, it's that kind of game (not my kind of game) but did they have to ruin the Syndicate series with dubstep? I'm yet to play it though, but I am not eager. I rather install Syndicate Wars again.

lol your right but putting in some dubstep would make it weird because they would have to put in other recent music.... unless they make 2 distinct radio channels =P

I'd rather include something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk3Ei_yoI4c, it was released in 1964 so it's not far at all from the 50's, and it's a catchy early rock song too.

Just been listening to the new Ting Tings album and "In Your Life" sounds like it would fit nicely into New Vegas
