4 songs over and over and over (xbox version)

I loved the Radio on Fallout 3, yet this Fallout only has about 4 songs and the Radio stations are the same.... why have they done this to their fans?

The radio stations aren't the same per say.

Ok well, Mojave Music Radio and New Vegas Radio are exactly the same. The former just doesn't have Wayne chat chat chatting away. Black Mountain Radio plays purely country.

There's apparently 27 songs in New Vegas. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Fallout:_New_Vegas_songs

I'm not sure. It might be. Certainly isn't in the realm of impossible with New Vegas.

However, I have heard most of the songs listed on the wiki, it's just sometimes they like to repeat.

Example:
Big Iron
Blue Moon
Why Don't You Do Right
Blue Moon
Why Don't You Do Right
Big Iron

And then they throw in a random one. I actually think I've only heard Something's Gotta Give once. Which svcks, because I love that song.

There are 48 songs in the game. But you're right; the playlist's randomization is kinda messed up so it only plays like 5 or 6 songs out of the whole bunch.

I swear, the only song that ever plays through the loud speakers outside the King's place is Jingle-Jangle-Jingle. Those claps are GD annoying.

I have only put them back on.... I loved walking through the wastes and dark Vaults listening to the music as it sets an incredibly odd mood, shame Bethesda, shame :(

I get that too, pretty frustrating to hear the SAME songs again and again, it's worse than the 10 songs they had in FO3.

I get Johnny Guitar and the Big Iron on his hip songs ALL THE TIME.

I sure as [censored] haven't heard 48.

Edited: I'm on the 360

I should have probably have mentioned this is CCNA's thread about how the game has affected players. THAT SONG IS LODGED IN MY HEAD!

I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle (jingle jangle!)
As I go ridin' merrily along
And they sing, 'Away, too glad, you're single'
And that song ain't so very far from wrong...

S'on a loop in my head whenever there's a moment of quiet. lol

Yes I have only heard about 10 of the songs and I heard 4 of them about 50 times. This has to be changed.

Here's my playlist on the 360:

Jingle, Jangle, Jingle
Something's Gotta Give
Big Iron
Johnny Guitar

and then it get's on a Kick where it plays It's a Sin a bunch of times.

At least the news seems to stay current, unlike Three Dog's ability to foresee the future and dwell on the past. I might repeat what I did on FO3, where I downloaded http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1418 as well as the original 20 songs, put them on a thumb drive, and used the 360 player in lieu of GNR.

And I can swear that while I was in Vault 11 that the song that goes "Lord knows I'm just a school girl..." go on a continuous loop until I got out of the vault.

Yah, I've noticed this too, the songs I hear about, maybe 3/4 of the time are Big Iron, Johnny Guitar (that song is so dull and annoying) and Jingle Jangle Jingle.

It's actually "And they sing, o ain't you glad you're single".
Can't let you have the wrong lyrics stuck in your head :)

I miss Three Dog :(

What I don't really like either is the ambient background music in F:NV when just walking around, exploring the Mojave Desert. I remember Fallout 3 had some fantastic music when exploring, for example Explore_07.mp3 (found in \Fallout 3\Data\Music\Explore) which was absolutely brilliant. I even burned a cd with my favorite Fallout 3 music (not the 40's radio station stuff)
In F:NV it's usually just the same really, really ambient and boring tune over and over again, which is weird considering the music is from the same guy as F3.

The radio stations do get old quick...
But it is probably more what it would actually be like.
Though I'm not sure if I hate Two-Dogs or Johnny Guitar more at this point.

There are 48. The wiki is wrong. If you have the PC version, all the music is in MP3 form in a folder and there are 48 songs in there. The radio shows on Black Mountain Radio and Wayne Newton speaking as Mr. New Vegas aren't part of the files there.

All the radio stations play all the same songs; the only difference is the filler between them. New Vegas Radio has Mr. New Vegas with news. Mojave Music Radio has nothing but the music. Black Mountain Radio has Tabitha and her alternate personality, Rhonda, doing... Stuff.

The sad thing is it looks like on the PC you can just use the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35376 and it clears the problem right up. Apparently there's 4 or so "headline songs" (Jingle, Jangle, Jingle; Big Iron, etc) that have a special lead in intro and then some filler songs. The mod changes it so the intros don't play until a certain amount of "filler songs" are played. It also changes the frequency of the news updates. It would be nice to get something lik that in a patch (Obsidian, please just add that mod into the patch), but I'd also like to see the game crashing bugs fixed first.
