Songs that go with Brink

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:19 pm

Sorry my bad.

Since i accidnetally posted in the wrong thread.

Aenema by Tool

Probably not the best reference i could have made but its rather hasty as well

So while im here...

Immoral Saint, i coundn't agree with you more. Parkor is by far one of my favorite things to watch and attempt. But since im 160 lbs of nothing its not gonna happen. My best advice if your looking to train for it would be lots of cardio above anything else and make sure you do plenty of pullups / weight lifting excorcises. Naturally im as rookie as you are if not more so. But sometimes you just have to force the knowledge on yourself through testing.

Just remember to practice safely as possible. your life > hobby.

I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51iquRYKPbs works the best for BRINK, can work for both sides of the fight, and it just makes me think of BRINK when I listen to it.

This thread is going to be a simple concept. What songs have you listened to that have made you think, "i can't wait for Brink" Whoever posts a song that the most people like will get a :trophy:*

Rules
1) Song must have something to do with some aspect of Brink
2) You must include in a sidenote what made you think of Brink when listening to the song
3) HAVE FUN WITH IT :)

Example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OanbqQP2hBY

My guns go :gun:<---- Reason it made me think of BRINK

P.S. this is my attempt at adding some music to the forums, so just roll with it ;)

*No prizes actually given

man i was thinking of making this thread. thanks for saving me the trouble. the song i was listening to when i first looked up brink was this

Don't know what happened there, but I fixed it.

your song is what you use when you are in epic heavy tank-class mode with a giant minigun while people bow down to you . with bulletholes in their heads/arms/legs/ect.

Drum & Bass makes walls explode.

Dubstep doesn't have the climixes to achieve that.

yes but drum and base knocks walls down by pure force. dubstep disturbs its very molecules and pulverizes it. nuff said

I have synesthesia

Oh cool, I'm proper jealous.. wish I was synesthetic!
__

Almost any RATM works pretty well - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nQUlbKdc74
But that almost seems too easy...

Although there are much better BRMC songs imo, this one fits the Resistance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7emgyv8YKjc

Maybe some Prodigy for the Security
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjyBUEEtIvI

It's difficult to get music that goes with a specific theme though - most of you guys have just posted songs you like. Which is fine, but not as fitting as it could be...

After the OST becomes either annoying or boring from hours of play, I plan on making my own soundtrack. I've been looking at the gameplay vids and trying a bunch of different tunes. Someone mentioned Tool earlier in the thread, definitely seems appropriate. Oddly enough, some of the newer and more sullen Radiohead songs have an oddly calming effect that actually "slows" the action down for me, which might even be helpful for situations that require a little extra thought to navigate in the most efficient way.

Swedish hiphop about parkour. I guess it doesn't really make sense if you're not swedish, it's pretty rythmic though :)

I could complain about that song, but I appreciate music taste diversity, anyways, Pass Out seems to be about going out and having a good time with some mates, so it doesn't really fit with Brink, (postapocalyptic civil war anyone? yeah that sounds fun! bring your girlfriend!)

I think Sa'eed by infected mushroom (link below)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cxov0BQ2fpE

The guitar makes for a very confrontational mood,

While the tribal-ish drumming fits with the parkour nicely,

There are quiete, tense bits reflecting some of the cutscenes,

On the whole it has a progressive, escalating feel, like I imagine the missions and war will have.

Even the chipmunk-ish bits have a place, as they seem to fit with tweaking your character obsessively.

Seriously, for awesomeness montages, it will kick the ass of Let The Bodies Hit The Floor so hard that said ass will accelerate to near light speed, gain ridiculous amounts of mass, and gravity svck everything else in the vicinity into it until it explodes, while LTBHTF screams like a little 8 year old on COD who's just been knifed when he's about to do something to get an achievement, as it is burnt to death by air friction and has every bone in it's body broken by the G force.
