Songs that go with Brink

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:45 am

This thread is going to be a simple concept. What songs have you listened to that have made you think, "i can't wait for Brink" Whoever posts a song that the most people like will get a :trophy:*

Rules
1) Song must have something to do with some aspect of Brink
2) You must include in a sidenote what made you think of Brink when listening to the song
3) HAVE FUN WITH IT :)

Example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OanbqQP2hBY

My guns go :gun:<---- Reason it made me think of BRINK

P.S. this is my attempt at adding some music to the forums, so just roll with it ;)

*No prizes actually given

+9000 Wraith - that would be EPIC to play during the last misson.

As for my contribution, it's this measly number - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL8ZGEyBuNs

anyone else think that the start of the first song sounds a whole lot like the start of all the developer videos?

Probably why I mentally linked it to Brink, and can't listen to that band anymore without thinking about the game.

I have a good one for the more contemplative moments like Super Pangolin mentioned:

Shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of that one!

As for this... I don't know where you'd find a spot for it, but this theme goes well with anything.

^I liked the parkour video :)

Note to self: real life parkour would be great advertising scheme for Brink

Screw that, here in America they need to use BRINK to advertise parkour! I'd love to try it out, but it's not something you can get into without any knowledge. Doing a sport like that without first-hand knowledge of what you should be doing is how we get idiots who try and leap between skyscraqers like spiderman. Parkour is the ultimate sport - it's useful (faster than a bike in urban environments), it gets you fit quick, and it is extremely rewarding.

I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51iquRYKPbs works the best for BRINK, can work for both sides of the fight, and it just makes me think of BRINK when I listen to it.

Well I went into Parkour with only what I saw Sebastian Foucan do in Casino Royale and whatever moves came naturally. Turns out I had been doing vaults, rolls, and wall climbs proficiently before I ever knew what parkour was! It's true what you say though... you can't just start jumping rooftops on your first run, you gotta ease your way into it by learning techniques. But practicing parkour is just a great way to relieve stress and learn balance and efficiency in movement (not to mention a few things to impress your friends  )

That's just it, I have no idea where I'd start. There aren't many parkour 'clubs' around where I live. In fact, most of the kids in my town don't even know what parkour means. In other words it'd just be me.

How to Parkour:
Step 1: jump onto object
Step 2: jump onto other object
Step 3: jump onto another object
etc etc...

Seems easy enough to me ;)

Vaults I can watch and learn, rolls are the problem. In order not to injure your spine when you land in a roll you have to do it a certain way. I'd end up doing a whole lot of :banghead: without any instruction.

As much as I dislike Linkin Park, this song's surprisingly fitting... I'll even go as far as to say it's a decent song.

And lol Haste the Day... saw them when they came down here (which is a big thing since nobody comes to NZ). The old vocalist left to form a post-metal band who are HEAPS better, imo. Probably not fitting for Brink... really slow and long, and half of it's just ambient.
