Sorcery and other Magicka

Sup magic users...

As an axeman with a heavy magic focus, I'd really love to get your opinions on the various schools of magic and how you will utilize them with your specific play style. Whether yer a stealth dude with some Illusion magic, a swordsman with some destruction, or even a pure mage... What are your favorite schools and which specific spells are you most excited to unleash on both your enemies and yourself?

For my money, can't really beat Destruction as the animations will probably be the most impressive, but restoration always seems like a safe choice to get you out of hot water -- especially with dragons blowing deadly miscellany at you...

Thoughts? How will you use magic to manipulate your friends and foes with your specific play style? Also -- do you have any dream spells that you hope they include? Like the Chant of Eternal Stench where your enemies crumple from after taking a stinky magical whiff? Whatever's clever...

i would like to see gandalfs lighting sword, i want to actially lift my sword in the air, call down electric and then stick my foe.

i will be using a sword and mostly destruction magic, but also misc spells from other schools as well. i think the flamethrower will be pretty sweet. i want to be able to 'wrap' magic around my sword, creating a temporary enchantment.

Dudes, Conjuration!
I normally role melee, but when I go mage, its Conjuration or nothin! I don't know why I love it so much, it really makes me feel like a wizard, y'know?
Plus it is retardedly overpowered. I mean don't get me wrong OP, I love me some Destruction, but Conjuration really makes me feel at home, and like I am some super God here to piss all over Alduin and is pesky dragons! :foodndrink:

Crap. I just realized. Wizards can't swim! What happens if there's an underwater quest and I'm a spellcasting character?

I doubt the waterbreathing effect has been cut from the game.

Actually one of the things i am extremely happy with is the new summoning animation for when your creature of choice "spawns" the one in oblivion looked terrible, also overjoyed with the new less Jagged frost atronach, so i am probably going to try to stick to a frost favoring mage.

My v?lva (shamaness) will use mostly staves, learned spells and alchemy. I hope there is a poisonous gas methodology as well as lightning, fire and ice.

The idea of setting traps with certain magics sounds very interesting.

My character is mostly melee and ranged assassin, but i'll probably end up with a few points in Illusion. Invisibility is <3

I think it would be interesting to be able to make magnetic fields out of shock spells. Maybe strong enough to pull any ferrous metal weapons out of your opponent's hands? Or welding metal together with strong shock spells?
