I've been playing Morrowind more recently and decided that I would go ahead and add the "fix" mods like the Morrowind Code Patch, and I would like to try out some graphics mods (nothing too high end as id like it to still run well on my laptop.) As I recall though I need to change something in the date or something similar within the steam files to be able to use mods? Anyone help me out by refreshing my memory?

3.4 ADDITIONAL OPERATIONS FOR STEAM USERS
The following operations must not be done if you possess a Morrowind
version different from the steam one!
1) When you start Morrowind you must disable the in-game functions of
steam. To do so:
● From steam user interface go in the Steam menu and then click
Settings
● Go to the In-game tab and uncheck Enable steam community ingame
2) You must modify the date of creation and last modify of morrowind.bsa,
tribunal.bsa and bloodmoon.bsa.
to do so:
● Downloadhttp://download.cnet.com/FileDate-Changer/3000-2248_4-10549569.html?tag=mncol and decompress it
● Launche FileDate.exe
● Check all the three boxes
● Click Add files and choose morrowind.bsa. you can find it in
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\morrowind\Data Files
● Set the date field to 05/01/2002 and click Change Files Date
● Repeat the process for tribunal and bloodmoon, set the date as follow:
– Tribunal.bsa: 11/06/2002
– Bloodmoon.bsa: 06/03/2003

The game asset files are stored in archives called BSAs, Steam shipped them with dates too recent, so that replacers are sometimes ignored for being older.

If you run MCP 2.0 beta (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1178011-repairing-the-cogs-of-morrowind-25/) it should automatically redate these for you. It should inform you it's doing that during the install process.
