But here's the thing, we've got a member from the United Kingdom, Jojobobo, who has a brother in the British army and he respects his military enough, who wouldn't really give two shillings of a crap if he saw the flag of the UK stored in the 'junk' folder. There's a member here from Australia (shout out!) who said that if the game were set in Sydney, Australia and we had the Australian flag being used for scrap, he/she wouldn't really give a damn.
All I'm saying is that perhaps ... perhaps sometimes we can take things a tad TOO seriously? A flag is just a flag, and the flag we're currently discussing isn't even the American flag that exists in our world. It's a fictional flag for a fictional setting, and even if it were the US flag with two extra stars stitched onto it, I really don't think this was Bethesda trying to piss all over the USA, it's own homeland. And even if they were, even if this was some subtle critique on Real!America, they should be allowed to do so. It's a sad, sad day when citizens of any nation are not allowed to make fun of/mock/criticize/critique their own homeland.
Ah, but I'm not gonna get too political here. Suffice to say, you have the right to feel a tad iffy about it, but maybe it's entirely possible that we could be taking this a wee bit too personally?
