No Soul from Elder Dragon?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 3:51 am

I faced an Elder Dragon for the fist time just now, for everyone saying Dragons are too easy let me tell you tihs big guy was tough i actually HAD to use storm call or I wouldn't have won this fight. But after I killed him his body hit the ground and he's just laying here no soul no skeleton. Anyone else?

Propably a bug, not much you can do about it just hope it doesn't happen on the next dragon you kill.

Pretty neat bug you can get a really good look at him. I already have six souls so it's no big deal.

I wouldn't know if you or your companion needs to get the last hit on him. I have a huge (well duh) dragon lying around Whiterun which some NPC's must have killed, because I certainly did not. No skeleton, the dragon with flesh and skin and all.

This happened a couple of times to me for the past 30 hours of playing (PC player). And it happens on all types of dragons I have encountered so far. Surely a bug which makes it quiet boring to turn on the game further.

I don't think it makes it boring one bit. I think it was neat but probably only once or twice if it happened too much it would agrivate me. I am on the 360 and I don't have my companion with me.... by the way anyone know where I can get a freaking male companion? I like haveing a partner along but I'd like a male partner to adventure with while my thrall and wife stay at home :D

The soul goes to the one who killed the dragon. So if you did 99% of his HP and then a guard fires an arrow at him, you won't get the soul.

You count as your weapons, your spells and your summoned pets. Not sure about companions as I haven't used one so far.

It's happened to me a few times. It's always near one of the locations on the map that have a resident dragon that I've killed before.

Yeah you're the only dragon born I watched a giant kill a dragon all by himself and got the soul so what you're saying is wrong.

Same here.
And I've had a dragon die with only me fighting it and its still there, flesh, soul and all. I just chalk it up to, since I didn't consume the soul it will get up again and I get to kill it again.

That isn't true, I let a giant and a mammoth kill a dragon. Then I walked over and absorbed the soul.

Not true, as long as you hit one at least once you get credit. Countless times the guards or my companion has gotten the final blow and i still got the soul. However once i let guards fight a dragon themselves while i had no companion with me and the body disappeared instantly once it died. (this was the only time i wasn't able to loot it or get its soul)

But ya, ima go with it being a bug in the ops case.

I've had a dragon die and not burn up once. I just kept playing and the next dragon I encountered gave me a soul.

Definetely not true. When I was on my very own I encountered a blood dragon at skull top (when no other NPC was there), killed it and nothing happened.

Someone said you cannot absorb dragon souls once you have 9 or 10 in store or something like that.

I′m sorry to be the one to tell you tihs but you are not dragonborn. Its not the end of the world though, you can always help Avor in his shop, or do some wood chop...
