Soul gems capacity

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:38 pm

Hi,

How the soul gems change works?

Meaning, if i have a great soul gem and it captures a petty soul, does it use the remaining space later or its just end up being one great soul gem with a petty soul?

I have many, many soul gems with un matching capacity, wonder if they will something else later or i just should use them :)

no..i'm afraid you wrecked that soul gem. It tries to match the soul gems in your inventory, but if you haven't got a smaller one, then it uses the next bigger one in your inventory.

I place all my Black Soul Gems in my chest at my house in Whiterun so I don't accidentally fill them with wolf souls are something equally frivolous.

I learned a trick where you can drop an incompletely filled soul gem on the ground and it will be empty again.

It's been very useful with grand soul gems that accidentally got filled with a mudcrab.
