Sound Effect Delays : V

I am having serious problems with this game properly loading the sound effects on time. It is anywhere from 0.5 seconds to 5+ before some sounds will load. (Grunts, footsteps, dragon breaths, weapon hits, shout sound effects, etc...) This problems happens relatively frequently, but not constantly.

This has been happening since 2011 and I can't stand it anymore. Anyone have any idea why this happens? Or is it just the [censored] Gamebyro Engine?

Not in a year or two, will that mess anything up? (I still have that "free Dawnguard" gift that Steam gave everyone a while back, don't want to lose that)

A good first step is to do a game cache verify. It won't mess anything up. Only the original game files will be verified. Dawnguard should be fine.

In the steam library, right click Skyrim and select properties. Check the DLC tab for dawnguard. It should be listed there if you still have it. It won't delete dawnguard at any rate.

If you edited or cleaned any of the original .esm files (Skyrim.esm), you can back them up before the verify as they will be re-downloaded.

Then do the game cache verify by going to local files tab and clicking verify integrity of game cache.

Alright I verified the cache. It said 4 files couldn't be found. It appears those were: installscript.vdf, readme.txt, Dragonborn.esm, and Update.esm.

Mark, I definitely remember this issue occurred even with vanilla Skyrim, back in 2011.
