Second try posting this post.

I have sound in opening video, then no sound in main menu, starting new i have sound in the intro video, Then no ingame.

At first the game wouldnt run at all. Upon trying to open the game in its folder, there was a windows popup thingy saying that two files were missing, xinput1_3.dll and x3daudio1_7.dll

I downloaded these file?s from www.dll-files.com i Think it was and put them in the main game folder. The game could then be started, but the problem mentioned above occured.

Could there be something wrong with those files? Should i copy them somewhere else? Something else the problem?

Please excuse grammar errors and such.

Edit: Also updated Nvidia drivers.

Running DXSETUP under _CommonRedist DirectX Jun2010 fixed it!

Help some audio came back and some didn't it cuts out all the time

Try doing what the above poster did...also check your sound control and set it to stereo...see if that helps.

I did and no good got some sound back will switch to stero when I get back from work and see if that helps if it does I will let you all no

I've done all the tips and still have no sound except the opening video.

Tried

• Clean reinstall
• Changed the "default format" to 16bit 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)
• Reinstall directx
• Changed from 5.1 surround to 2.1 stereo
• Updated all drivers
• Tried USB headset, HDMI, desktop speakers

Game works fine otherwise.

The Fix TOKKS mentioned with the DXSETUP worked for me and fixed my sound issues to TY TOKKS

I know this sounds sketchy, but this worked for me. Google the YouTube video "Como corrigir erro de Fallout 4 sem som". There's a link to a German version of additional DirectX files. Installing these worked!
