I don't know about you guys, but the multiplayer seems DESIGNED to be ****ing irritating.
I had to stop playing due to irks from:
- The god awful high-pitched whine when you die
- "Nanovision enabled" is not effected by dialog volume setting and is loud as ****
- 20-45 seconds of obnoxious clock ticking PER MATCH

In fact, "obnoxious" pretty much sums up the entire sound design. Are you freaking kidding me?

Nevermind reducing the screen to 30% usability (blood & armor effects), and the insane flashes all the time (are they trying to make us blind also? lol), I feel like they want to keep your teeth on edge the entire time. I dunno, maybe you enjoy it, for me it's really off-putting, I got tensed up from playing a damn game.

At any rate, are the sounds easily editable?
I would love to deafen/eliminate all the above sounds, then the game would be playable.
In Steam\steamapps\common\crysis 2\gamecrysis2 there's a bunch of ".pak" files, but I'm not familiar with the type.


Note: please don't respond with "live with it" or other brain-dead comments.
I play tons of games/shooters, but Crysis 2 with headphones feels like a brainwash session.

I play it with headphones too and I doo agree on the high pitch 'suit deactivation' sound when you die. its loud and even painfull sometimes.
that makes me mess around with the volume on my headset constantly while i'm playing multi.
the clock doesnt bother me and the flashes on screen I dont mind.
The guns sound nice and 'meaty' witch is a good thing imo.
But suit 'nanovision activated' should be a separate option in the setup menu for it is loud, verry loud.

so my biggest gripes would have to be the suits volume and the death sound (plus the bulcrap they spew at you when they kill you).

Agreed - they paid voice actors to be total morons for, what, a total of FOUR one-liners?
An otherwise normal game somehow manages to make death a chore.

I can't STAND the damn game with these minor, completely unnecessary additions.
It's like the entire thing was cooked up by meatloaf football jocks.

This game has the weakest weapon sound effects I've ever heard - ever.
The old Nintendo games had better sounds.
... Space Invaders has better sound.
Even CoD has much better sounds...

I like the gun sounds. With all the audio tricks like reverb they actually sound like real weapons, a welcome change.

I dislike the little voice clips that play whenever you get killed in MP, with one guy saying stuff like "YEAH **** YOU BUDDY" or "ENOY BEING DEAD MOTHER ****". They're so obnoxious, it's like crytek wanted to invoke the atmosphere of xbox live voice chat on other platforms.

I don't mind the one liners, and they make sense too.
A lot of these guys are from new york.

If that was affected by a voice volume control, I would be satisfied (it needs to be in line with armor mode and stealth mode, it was in the xbox demo). The rest of it I can live with.
