Sound issues during dialogue

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 2:00 am

I looked around, but didn't find a similar problem yet, so..

Whenever I enter dialogue with someone (or something), the sound disappears - no background music, no voice acting, etc. Whenever I close the dialogue it all comes back; there's music, people are talking to me and others, etc.

There's a similar problem with the Notes section of the Pipboy; whenever I want to listen to one of the recorded notes, there's no sound. If I close the Pipboy, I can see the subtitles of the recordings, but there's no sound to go with it.

Does anyone know a solution for this? It isn't gamebreaking, but a bit weird to play with. Thanks.

Seems I located the problem. I'll just post it here in case someone encounters the same problem.

The fix was adjusting the speaker setup: instead of using 5.1, I reverted back to 2.1 and that solved the no sound issue. I'll try to tinker with it so I can use 5.1 and still hear everything, but for now this did it.
