Sound of Skyrim.

My first poll.

We already know that we will receive warning music when we are attacked. Something I would prefer to avoid.

I'm very interested in how you think the game should sound.

Anyway, vote.

o.O I feel as though instead of background music, for instance in the bar there should be musicians and bard players that could even make songs of your achievements. It would be a bit pointless but it would add more time to the game because players would sit around listening to the stories they have to offer. Also the fact that there are bard players would mean that it would add more of an atmosphere in the time period.

I pondered whether to vote on music or just sound effects. But why don't instead of one or the other make a choice? This considering in the options there could be a choice dependant on whether you want to feel the world as it should be or whether you want to lsiten to the fast pace of battle or the calm pace of exploring and relaxing.

I'm not much for the idea that they'll tell stories about you, but it would definitely be nice if they told stories about events that may come your way.

Indeed, it would be cool for them to talk about the dragons etc but if you gain reknown from say... Killing a dragon then they should sing a song about you after a while anyway, or only if other people are watching your ''battle.'

For some reason "adventure music" makes me imagine overly loud and abrasive music. Would greatly prefer a more subtle approach that doesn't drown out the ambient sounds.

I always turn the music down and the sound effects up. That's not the issue here.

When I explore, I want to hear explore music in the style of previous Elder Scrolls Games. Your options on the second and third point smell like dragon feces. I just want to hear the usual Skyrim music I hear everywhere else, nothing special. However, that does not mean "Adventure music". What do you consider Adventure music, anyway?

Same as you, it seems. ;)

Explore music = Adventure music, in this thread.

Nice thread (And good poll, too)! :tops:
But such things were (sadly) already discussed http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1176238-more-music-categories/page__p__17382536__fromsearch__1#entry17382536, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1176144-the-music/page__p__17405097__fromsearch__1#entry17405097, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1183424-the-music-and-sounds-of-skyrim/page__p__17572871__fromsearch__1#entry17572871 and http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1178516-ambient-music/page__p__17437816__fromsearch__1#entry17437816. ;)

And I voted 1, 2, 3.

Never had any problem with the ambient music in The Elder Scrolls. Always very nice to hear, sets up the atmosphere. And you can always disable it if you get bored of it or looking for a new experience.

Well I indeed stated that explore music is not the same as adventure music. I'm more thinking of a hardy music of sense of the unknown and what might happen, indeed.

I liked what Oblivion did. But I don't want the song to change until it is over.
