Sounds from the game.

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 5:30 pm

On you tube today, I was able to watch a video just released from someone who obtained the game today. As I watched the video with my headphones in, the first thing I noticed, was all of the "spoiler" obnoxious noises. The AI are constantly telling you that you received ammo, what they are doing or what they are going to do. Way, way to much. A couple of the character voices were ok but most I would never want to hear ever again. A mute feature for the voices would be nice. I personally like the majority of my audio noise to come from guns/weapons, people dying, explosions..etc. Not voices from the game characters. I would rather hear very little from them especially when they have the voices they do. As far as the environment noises, they are great almost perfect. Your own footsteps are a little to loud. I can't stress enough how bad the character voices are."spoiler".

All the shout outs I've heard have been useful like "I need ammo" or something letting you know that you can help them. I can only assume this will not be present online, as the human players should speak for themselves.

Speaking of sound, weapon sounds sound amazing from what I've been hearing lately. Much better than what i had been expecting.

I like voice overs. There were a lot in BC2, from needing ammo, health, repairs to claiming objectives to spotting enemies and take cover cries, and they were quite fitting I felt. I understand how they might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I welcome it with BRINK.

I agree that some of the commands they give are helpful but there is a point where it's to much. Again, most of the character voices are unbareable to listen to. A couple of them have what sounds to be a bad impersonation of Arnold Schwarzenegger

''Health BOOST!''
- ''Thank you, man''

''Low on ammo!''
- ''Get some''

I like alot of the sounds :)

But in one of the leaked videos there was a voice I really didn't like.. ''YOU ARE INVINCIBLE, GO GET THEM'' in a.. Ugly voice?

the guy that wrote this post has obviously never played a team based game in his life before. its not a case of i dont like it. it absolutely essential that you know whats going on with the rest of your teammates. when he's lying on the ground shouting out "medic" i shall run past him and and say "stop making all that pointless noise"

You only hear things that are relevant. You only hear "I'm out of ammo!" if you can give people ammo. You only hear "I need a medic!" if you are a medic. You only hear "Grenade incoming!" if there's a frag up your bum.

The AI voices sound fine to me, as they relay important information.

so whats your point then. is it voice acting you dont like for the command shouts? if you play team based games then you must know you need them in a game like this. and you sounded like a newbie to this type of game so my apologies.

I play with Jcarpe, He's not complaining about the need or use of voice overs, from what he told me he is not liking the voice acting of some. Which i can agree on, some voice actors can kill a game, it sounds like a few are good and some can be grating on your ears if you hear it too much.

none of the voice overs are taken off in multiplayer, and all of the voice overs are useful, well, idk maybe hearing takign a command post over and over could get a bit annoying but its useful, it isn't just for annoying purposes. If you really don't want to have an extra tool in helping you in the game, just mute the voices in the audio menu, easy enough, but then your at a total disadvantage.

To much talking, voices are to loud and some voices are so bad I never want to hear them again. If you need ammo, say "ammo" a medic, say "medic". There is an excessive use of unwanted audio noise, plain and simple.

Great game. Check out some vids on You Tube while we wait. Search JCarpe203. I'll also be posting multi online gameplay the same way for Brink. Same channel too.

This isn't.

Voice defaults to friends only, and yes, the "autopvssyr" as they call it will be present online.

Players will call out "low on ammo" a while before they need it, though, so the Soldier comes to them on time instead of late.

the only audio i find annoying is the capturing command post ping pong

"They captured our command post"
"we got it back"
"They got it"
The rest of the team: "leyroy, shut the [censored] up!"

I guess i'll get used to it

The only thing I haven't liked about the noises so far is Brother Chen saying:
"__ minutes remain, BROTHERS!"
"__ minutes remain, BROTHERS!"
"__ minutes remain, BROTHERS!"
"__ minutes remain, BROTHERS!"

Other than that, there's nothing wrong with any of the sounds. Some are even great, like the gunfire.

And the OST is SERIOUSLY [censored]ING AMAZING from what we've seen.
