Theme from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly -- Ennio Morricone

I can imagine it playing during a 3 way showdown with gunslinging raiders, I'd be tempted to call my character Tuco!

Chuck Berry - Promised Land

Buddy Holly - Everyday

Bo Diddley - Pills

Nina Simone - Sinner Man

Bob Dylan - "The times they are a-changin'" would be great when first getting out of cyro stasis.

Also they should through in a beat radio station that plays jazz and has poetry readings like Allen Ginsburg reading Howl.

Al Jolson - toot toot tootsie goodbye

Billie Holiday - god bless the child

Glenn Miller - moonlight serenade

All three of these would be great to have. That Billie Holiday one is absolutely perfect.

That would be cool, would make the world seem less stagnant.

I think I've posited these in another thread but:

Would be interesting. But they'd have flesh out pre-war counter-culture or else I think hippie protest sounds would sound out of place. Which I wish they kinda would do. Lonesome Road hinted at it: http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Sunflower_Summers Hidden Valley graffiti too.

Would make the pre-war world a little more complex.

I'm Surprised they have never used Pennies from Heaven (not particular about artist version).

And Really am I going to have to be the one to suggest The Kingston Trio and "MTA"? Its in Boston for Blanks sake!

Edit: and if we are doing hippy songs, you have to get "One Tin Soldier" by Covenant.

It'll be interesting to see what general "themes" show up in the music selection.

FO3's songs had general themes of longing for lost homes/the past, goofy happy stuff for the contrast with the nuked world, and stuff that mentioned fire/nukes/anarchy/etc.

(with some overlaps.... Civilization fits 2 & 3, for instance....)

NV had a combination of cowboy songs and Vegas lounge stuff.

I found a fascinating site including a compilation album (no longer available on Amazon aside of scalper rates):

  • Atomic Platters: Cold War Music from the Golden Age of Homeland Security (http://www.atomicplatters.com/)

Some tracks have already played in the Fallout universe.

Here are some of the tracks from that listing and shared on youtube - see those pages for copyright).

A serious piece of work by those who researched these tracks.

They are cold war tracks that don't all fit the Fallout universe as several focus on the Russians (not fitting the FO world's Chinese antagonists.)

The remainder range from mockery to rock tunes to country, gospel and religious pleas for survival.

Some of the civil defence spots are fascinating.

  1. CONELRAD Radio Alert 'Real Thing' (1953) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGLhpVrxECg

Entering Diamond City, a cutscene begins in slow motion, moving through the city showing NPCs going about their day, set to Head Over Heels by Tears for Fears.

:)

This got me thinking of movie scene music but yeah that tune, The Ecstacy of Gold, would be much cooler.

I suggested these to Pete Hines in 2007 (possibly late 2006), even before I registered here; and once again after.
(It is actually the reason that I registered here.)

Spoiler
So I guess you could say that it's all Sheldon's Fault.

*BTW... Sheldon Allman was the singing voice for Mr. Ed.
So it would have been cool as hell to have had a non-interactive horse in a FO3 wasteland encounter that was singing these songs.
(Yes. Horses were supposed to be extinct for the same reason cats were.)
