Soundtrack songs

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:06 am

I haven't seen any thread relating to songs that will appear.

these are the ones that are extremely likely to appear in the game in some form.

  • main theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN7L2nl29C0) probably on the main menu

radio

  • All over but the crying (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7Fpp2VT5lk)
  • atom bomb baby (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEKdt2y1-Mc)

What songs would you like to appear on the radio in game.

for me it would have to be Runaway by Del Shannon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S13mP_pfEc)

i heard it a lot while growing up because of my dad so i have grown to like it; and the name runaway would suit Boston, especially if the game ever focuses on runaway androids.

I really liked a lot of the songs in the CONELRAD radio mod, so I'm hoping a few of those are included in the song listing. Granted, there a lot of songs in that mod dealing with the Cold War, which wouldn't quite fit Fallout, but there are a few that I think would fit quite nicely.

But really, I'm hoping for more Frank Sinatra. I loved whenever one of his songs would play in New Vegas.

Love the main theme. With Bethesda games when I start it up for the first time I always sit on the main menu and listen to the whole theme song before I hit start. Can't wait to do that for this one!

More Miles Davis and instrumental jazz in general would be welcome. Aside from that, all I really want is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEllHMWkXEU. Or maybe the Louis Armstrong version.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2VCwBzGdPM

Personally, I think the tune fits perfectly with Fallout's post apocalyptic theme. I believe it stands in perfect contrast to what we see in the wasteland every day. What, with it's positive message of the beauty of the world...and in the world of a bombed out America, it harkens back to a better, more innocent time.

Wonderful song, just like O Fortuna.
___________

I'd like to hear some alternate timeline variants of real songs, rather than just the ones from our own timeline.

Radical variant versions of songs like 'The Ballad of the Green Berets', or "Rock Around The Clock", or "Hot Rod Lincoln"; where they are clearly not from our own 1950s/60's.

If they're done well enough, I don't mind entirely original tunes for Fallout.

But, if they wind up sounding anything like Skyrim's bards, I'd rather they not bother.

I wouldn't mind some Ella Fitzgerald. Also The Chordettes. "Mr.Sandman" and "Lollipop" are catchy.

Oh, I like the way this gent thinks. I also wouldn't mind some Connie Francis with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L__1goqraqU.

But I actually hope they put some real effort into the actual game soundtrack that plays in the background, and not just the radio. I always thought it was something the original Fallout games excelled at, with having a variety of soundtracks play at unique locations. New Vegas game soundtrack wasn't half bad either.

Santo and Johnny- Sleepwalk

Mr. Rogers- Won't You Be My Neighbor

And for a touch of meta (I would like showcased as music made post-apoc), Devo- Mechanical man/I'm A Potato/Jocko Homo.

It's strange. I am a fan of Devo. But only their older stuff. Much more of a punk aesthetic than the decidedly 80's over the top synth stuff.
I also think it just fits better with the FO theme (if that makes sense), what with the subject matter- devolution, space junk, all the human highway stuff- which is quite apocalyptic in nature.

The whole The Complete Truth About De-Evolution video is just tops, really.

Well, if we're talking post-50s music that would be appropriate for Fallout, my vote goes for Tom Waits. It's dark, weird, and very American.

I would like something more along the lines of FONV. I am a little tired of ink spots everygame. I really did not like atom bomb baby, I must state that. I would rather songs like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLeZof1wGps to which you could just put a slight filter on it.

I love the dean martin one and the two after :D .. Best Mafia 2 song, lets be honest :D

I want more Doo-wop and early Rock and Roll in general. For example, "Sh-boom" by the Chords.

I'm also a svcker for more Louis Armstrong. "La Vie en Rose" or bringing back "A Kiss to Build a Dream On" would be nice.

"We'll meet again" by Vera Lynn would be good too.

On another note, I kind of want the ambient non-radio music to take after the avant garde and experimental trends that hit classical music at the start of the 20th century, from composers like Edgard Varese or Igor Stravinsky. Mix that in with a little bit of the early forays into electronic music, like the soundtrack to Forbidden Planet, and I'd be very pleased. The tidbits of music we heard at the E3 presentation were really appealing, though, so it's whatever.

Dr. Stranglelove soundtrack or not, the Inkspots and Johnny Cash versions of "We'll Meet Again" are far superior to the Vera Lynn version.

I don't really care about the radio songs too much, and I never listened to them much before either. Although I would like to see some underground new music being in the game in a particular fitting location, not something that straight out of 50's utopia. That time is long gone and in the past, the people in the post apocalyptic world don't live with the 50's mentality that the Government was imposing on them.

But I do hope there is a good soundtrack, and for the more ambient atmospheric moments to be electronic and subtle. I would like to have a more futuristic dystopian movie soundtrack kinda vibe, like something from many 80s movies but modern.
