Soundtrack suggestions!

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 2:10 pm

I recently stumbled across The Platters (thank you Empire) and since we're married in this Fallout I think they'd be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCdfiuVHUMM in that regard. And by 'in that regard' I mean in helping evoke feelings of romance and/or nostalgia. Especially The Great Pretender and My Prayer. Maybe Ebb Tide too, but that's not on the link.

Anyway, make your soundtrack suggestions here. Well, not here here. I mean below. Or next to if your reply goes on a second/third/fourth page.

I'm going to say this and I'm always going to say this "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong it perfectly portrays Fallout with a sense of irony but it feels right only negative is its from 1967 so its on the border when it comes to still being in the acceptable limit of retro 1950s

I have a feeling that the soundtrack in Fallout 4 is going to be substantially larger than the ones in New Vegas and Fallout 3. Not only do they have way more money to license the songs now compared to back then, but it just seems like something they would make really well.

There's a lot of themes from NV that while different to the theme of F3&4 would go well in terms of music.

I'm a big fan of Johnny Cash but his covers of songs and his early 60s would still hit the atmosphere of Fallout maybe more so in regards to west coast themes as opposed to east coast but songs like The Man Comes Around and his cover of Big Iron are perfect but obviously both of those songs were made in 2002 if I recall. What I'm trying to get at is even through some of his more rock like songs are post 1950s they suit the theme of Fallout in so many ways.

To anyone who plays NV download a music mod and play the man comes around while walking the desert killing Caesars Legion troops and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Peggy Lee "Is That All There Is?"

Being from 1969, I feel like this might be too late to be appropriate, but it sounds good. Always loved this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCRZZC-DH7M.

Dinah Washington "This Bitter Earth"

Also, this one. There's a very beautiful mashup used in the Shutter Island film and a The Secret World trailer. But here is the original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=judyCgN2daA.
