Space travel in Fallout

This may have been talked about elsewhere, but I wondered if there may have been colonies else where in our system that survived the war. I don't know if I would like it, but after years a mars vault group makes its way back to earth. No alien ships, just left over tech from before the bombs. Just a idea.

is there any lore to support the possability of a mars colony? They had rocket tech, but nothing ive seen that would support such a feat.

Not that I know of, but why not. Space expolration became a big deal in the 50s and 60s so if anything I think it's just a heavly unexplored area of the fallout universe. Maybe the Fallout Newt G created a colony on the moon. I just thought it would be a cool way to expand the world a little without coming into conflict with established canon.
The great war happened in 2077. Thats a long time to not of made it to at least one of our neighbors in the solar system.

But remember that the fallout universe breaks away from our own in the 50s/60s. That era's sci-fi is the predominant reality for them. Im not saying its not possible, and if theres room in lore to allow for it, then sure, why not. Though lets also consider the general hatred towards Mothership Zeta. It seems most people aren't too keen on the concept.
