Spanish Audio Issue

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 3:37 pm

Hello guys, I am from Spain and I bought today my Pip-Boy edition. I am totally freaked out about this game, fallout 3 is one of the best games i have ever played and I think this one is going to blow up that mark.

But let's get to the point. When I first heard my lone survivor saying "la guerra, la guerra no cambia nunca" in front of the mirror, it left me totally shocked. His voice literally sounded like he was speaking through a tin can. And unfortunately it wasn't only his voice. They all sound like a really bad quality recording, and it makes me think audio files (at least the spanish ones) are over compressed. It makes the game way less immersive and that makes me sad.

I don't really know if you can fix this with a patch or something, but I will only ask for one thing, if it is possible: a language selector. I would really like to enjoy those perfectly recorded english voices without having to chage the language of my entire console (and I would also like to keep in-game texts such as subtitles, menus or terminals in my language).

I really hope I'm not begging too much and you guys can fix this.

Thanks for this wonderful game, wether you can help me or not.

You're right friend, I also propose for a language selector.

Same in the italian version, only on PS4! Please fix it, or give us the possibility to choose the voice in english and the subtitles in italian!

Same problem here (Spanish version too)

Also, the dialogue volume is too low, while the effects sounds are too high, I play in a 5.1 with my PS4.

Please fix it!

I think it would be great if I can change audio and subs language in the settings menu. (English audio and Spanish subs, shuld be great)

That's not the same problem we have man, I've got the european version and I know it includes English audio as well as other european languages. All I ask for is just an in game language selector which allows me to play the game with English audio and Spanish subtitles, menu and texts in general.
Fixing the ridiculously bad quality of spanish audio would be way better, but I really doubt Bethesda can help me with that.
Thanks for your help though.

Same problem here in Spanish version and from what I've heard in Twitter it's happening to a lot of people. I tweeted myself to Bethesda, Fallout and Pete Hines and obviously no anwser. We need to be more active in this topic so they take us into account. For me the problem is not the quality of the voices (which is horrible, but i can take it) is the difference between these and the music or effects. They need to patch this issue or at least include a language selector.

The best solution would be they fix the quality of spanish voices but change voices to English and subtitles to spanish would be also great. I hope a Bethesda patch this as quick as possible

the italian voices of the PS4 Version suffer of a big problem of audio quality , maybe caused from the compression level on the disk since the problem doesn't exist in the other platform ,

I'd like to know from the support if there will be a patch to fix this problem or maybe , like the previous post suggestion , at least a language / subtitles selection in the menù of the game.

It's frustrating to have a fantastic music / ost / ambient sounds but a NPC voice so quiet and muffled .

Hi!

I have tweeted for this problem in the Spanish version. Here it is:

Josemi93/status/664393127243943936

This Tweet was retweeted by the Dubbing actor of Deacon in the spanish version. He experienced these issues, and he complained about that in Twitter too.

VideoclubDante/status/664532196150140928

I am trying to convince people to push in Twitter, and get more and more RT's, in order to get an answer soon. We are discussing this problem in zonaforo.meristation.com (an Spanish gaming community). Here it is, the link of my comment in that post:

zonaforo. meristation. com/ topic/ 2348678/ page-35#entry44479047

I hope we get a fix soon!

Greetings!

I can't certainly say if the problem is just the same for spanish and italian version, but I suposse it is. The sound of all the things in the game is outstanding (music, the footsteps, the sound effects of the guns and bombs, etc). All but the voices.

It is... like all the sound files in the games had a bitrate of 320 kbps or better, and the sound of the voices were overcompressed to 56 kbps... I don't know if you know what I want to say xD

Thank you for helping to try to get Bethesda's attention :) I hope they give us a solution soon, this is totally unacceptable. And I hope, this is surely a very annoying little thing, that it can be fixed with a patch ( or a re-installation at worst).

Well, thank you all for your attention, and your tweets. I am sure that if we fight together for attention, we'll soon have a fix for this problem.

(P.S: Sorry for my English, I know that is not the best and I surely made some mistakes, but well, that's the reason because I am fighting for a solution with the spanish version xD)

We have the same and identical problem. I checked personally gameplays in spanish language and you have the same problems as ours, so i can say that we are in the same boat. Anyway i think like you, regards file audio, they probably made a mistake when was on exporting and now we have this issue. Is also true that i don't understand why Xbox One e PC are not afflicted by this problem.

OT: For me your english is better than mine xD

Same here for the german version on pc.

You can hear the compression artifacts sometimes. Seems they encoded all the other languages with <<96Kbit/s...

Skyrim back then was much worse, you couldn't even listen to those dialogs..

I opened another thread and linked this one here:

forums.gamesas DOT com/topic/1551064-poor-audio-dialogue-quality-on-localized-versions/

The best would be an optional HD audio pack as free dlc, so people who don't want to download a lot of gigabytes don't have to.

I put some examples of this poor audio qualtiy together (links are with timestamp, just copy & paste and it will direct you to the example position):

German version:youtube DOT com/watch?v=eeCAGBwjDCo&t=32m47s
Spanish version: youtube DOT com/watch?v=Q44GJ9Pz_ag&t=7m48s
Italian version: youtube DOT com/watch?v=Zqu9bjRbs24&t=11m50s

Nothing, nothing at all :( Just the automatic answer of Bethesda:

Helping you is our passion!

We will assume your issue has been resolved if we do not hear from you within 96 hours (4 days).

If your issue has not been resolved, you can respond directly to this email. We look forward to working with you again should you need us!

WELL.......

I have just noticed that this response came out from the Elder Scrolls Online Help Service..... What the [censored]... xD

I just sent my complain to [email protected].... so I don't understand it. This is crazy xD

Well... At least I achieved that a spanish games magazine (Meristation) wrote an article about this problem:

meristation DOT com/playstation-4/noticias/problemas-con-el-audio-en-castellano-de-fallout-4-en-ps4/44672/2095221

P.S: Rest in Peace all the victims of the terrorist acts of France. Unacceptable. The world is totally messed up.

Thank you all for the feedback guys, I was skeptical about this topic getting more than 3 replys, but now we are making some noise.
Let's just hope Bethesda notices our problem and starts working to solve it asap.
See you all in the Commonwealth!
