Spartan class

Just thinking of creating a Spartan class and would like some help on race/ birthsign/ skills etc. A Redguard would suit for their Adrenaline Rush and ease using all weapons but I think a Nord has a starting bonus to Spear. What would fit from a RP perspective? Also Major skills Spear, Block, Heavy/ Medium Armour, Short Blade but anything else?

Both Redguard and Nord would be a good choice, but I think an Imperial would suit the class much better given their profile;

"... are known for the discipline and training of their citizen armies"

The skill bonuses don't really reflect the class much, but I've never been one to follow the blueprint.

Race: Imperial
Birthsign: Warwyrd or the Lady

Major Skills:
Spear
Heavy armor
Short sword
Athletics
Armorer

Uses: Strength, speed, endurance.

Minor Skills:
Restoration
Alchemy
Medium armor
Long blade
Hand-to-hand

Uses: Willpower, intelligence, speed, endurance.

My thoughts anyways.

Throwing spears are one of the easiest things to make in the editor, I dont know any particular mod that adds them and only them, but I think they'd be great for a spartan class.

Heres a mod that adds both one-handed spears and javelins which I would think would be important for creating a true phalanx unit.

Strength
Agility or Endurance

Spear
Heavy Armor
Block
Speechcraft
Athletics

Shortblade
Unarmored
Alchemy
Hand-to-hand
Armorer/Marksman

Speechcraft for intimidating and spouting one-liners. Heavy and Unarmored for a partial set of armor. Although weak signs, The Warrior or The Thief would, I think, benefit the model you're aiming for.

I don't know if you want to base this on history or movies, but historically hoplites would have distained the use of bows, and would have excelled at hand to hand combat. I love the heavy armor plus unarmored idea. I'd make them both majors.

You may also want to check out this site: http://adul.net/index.php?p=dl_mwmods_aduls_arsenal

this mod gives you all kinds of weapons and armor that are ideal for a spartan or even a gladiator.
