Spawn Enemies via Region Editor

Post » Thu Jun 04, 2015 7:57 am

Hi all was wondering if there was a way to spawn enemies using the region generator. Initially this sounds like a simple and stupid question. But allow me to elaborate:

I have already generated objects using the region generator and If I add anything new then regenerate it will spawn duplicates of all the objects already generated.

If I remove the objects from the region generator and try to spawn new objects/enemies then all the previously generated objects get erased and only the new ones are generated.

Now some people might say why don't you just add the enemies and regenerate everything from scratch.

I don't want to do this because it generates about 60% of the objects too high or too low and I had to spend days repositioning all the objects by hand.

Can anyone help with this dilemma?

Objects spawned by region generation are tagged as being spawned by that region. Thus if you change the objects then regenerate, it obliterates previously generated objects.

I think you can get around this by making a NEW region, and adding only your new objects to it then generating. If you make an 'enemy spawn' region then just put some LChar spawners in there it should blanket them on top of whatever is already there.

Oops, I meant Leveled Characters, not LChar lists. Don't put the raw lists into the generation, I don't think that would even work. (And if it did it would be a bad setup) Use the "LvlWhatever" objects.
