Special Effects question.

Post » Fri Mar 19, 2010 7:00 am

Been away from the forums for awhile so first I'd like to say hello to everyone, hope you're all well. :foodndrink:

Alright down to business.

Felt like modeling a new grenade for fun. Just conceptualizing at the moment.

My question is about explosion effects though. Would it be possible to script multiple existing explosion effects to a grenade to go off at the same time for a new effect. Or am I stuck with single effects? Just curious, I usually do interiors/exteriors so haven't really delved into the weapons/effects. Figured I'd ask this general question before I start giving myself a script headache for no reason :brokencomputer:

Thanks for any information/suggestions.

You might want to take a look at the Shredder Grenade from EVE :) It kinda does what you want. Ask the makers how they did it.

You can make an explosion place an item, you can make that item place another explosion through script. The secondardy explosions won't use the original's skill values though, so if you want to apply damage you'd be best off having the secondary ones just be enchantments & visuals unless you want them to be OP for low-explosives-skill-people.
