What is character variation if the differences are trivial? Numbers for the sake of numbers. A simpler system that brings with it deeper consequences is preferable imo. 1-5 still offers a great amount of possible builds (just with these primary attributes alone, not taking in everything else there is!). Unfortunately I don't know the mathematics to give you the total amount, but it's more than 100.
Don't misunderstand me, I like implants, I like equipment boni. But they can be repurposed as every Fallout game repurposed the ingame worth of things. These aren't retcons, they're gameplay adjustments.
They should increase secondary stats as opposed to primary ones. Gives more worth to SPECIAL and marks it's importance out.
Nanana, I don't want SPECIAL scrapped or retconned mind you.
