Spell casting animations

I never liked those touch spells in Oblivion. When a spell is named like "[Something] strike" I expected a punch when I first played it! Not a pathetic touch/slap!

And now that they are using canned animations in finishing moves, I expect more in combat animations. Something that looks more cool, to make me feel powerful. Like really punch that monster witha magika fist. I saw from the trailer a fire-y ground slam. For range magic, it can ba like a throw, or a finger point, or both. Maybe even hearing your character unleashing terror using some divine language.

I also have this idea of slamming magic into a weapon for a period of time. Like fuse it into an arrow or sword to deliver a strike with effect and more damage. Your thoughts on that?

I want a sinister poke/touch, it's more wicked.

I liked how you "touched" the enemy with those spells. It wouldnt make much sense if it became some kind of magically infused super karate punch... unless you also had a high hand-to-hand fighting

But if you're going to touch someone with your magic infused hand then at least put some force into it. I mean, you want to quickly strike him down so I seems more logical if you really to strike your hand at your opponent, instead of moving towards it with ease. You're in a fight!

Same there.Even a palm touch was too much.(not really but XD) You dash towards your fully armored enemy, find and opening and get very close at high speed, but stop briefly as he gasps. You slowly touch him with your relaxed finger while letting out the words "over..." with a calm face, and than blast him.

Personally I think Oblivion's animations were pretty good.

That's exactly how I want it done.

The slow touches probably lack the intensity of a battle that I imagine.
I like the more action packed combat kind of fights. Quick bursts and stuff.

The animation should stay same more or less, but there should be a way in order to combine H2H with magic so you actually can get punches empowered by magic.
