Spell Tome: Conjure Seeker - Location?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:57 am

Hi guys, I can't seem to find this darn spell anywhere. I know it's supposed to be in Apocrypha, but I checked 6 of the 7 Black Books (couldn't do Waking Dreams, main quest blocked it off) and I didn't find it anywhere. Is there any requirements that I need for it to spawn?

I've also heard that Talvas will sell it, according to the Elder Scrolls wiki. It won't show up for me. Do I need to be a certain level in Conjuration in order for it to appear in his inventory?

I never found it in Apocrypha. I purchased it off the assistant Talvas. He sells all the spells. If his inventory does not change, then make a save, kill him and then re-load the save which should re-set his inventory.

There are a few in Apocrypha. On tables usually. You have to seek them out. Unless they only appear at a certain level? (I was 81 at the time so...)

EDIT: I found 4 in total. One I used and 3 I sold. 2 were in the same black book. No idea which ones though, but defo there.

I found a ton of spell books in Apocrypha, including Summon Seeker and Summon Ash Spawn. Might have to look around a bit, I found mine on one of those altars (at least they look somewhat like altars) in Apocrypha, can't remember which Black Book exactly though.

When I went through, instead of using my normal sorceress, I used my nord sneak archer and only found scrolls and a spell tome. Had to buy the spells.

I went through the MQ and some Black Book side quests at level 42 and didn't find one Conjure Seeker spell tome. I guess they only show up there if you're at a really high level.

I must have found it five or six different times in Apocrypha. I wish I could send you a copy.

Thanks for the replies, I guess that explains it. I play a Knight character that I augment with magic and enchantments, though I wouldn't consider it a Battle Mage. My current level is like... 43 I think. I guess I'll just have to buy the spells.

svcks if that's the case as i'll be playing through it again soon.... Would be a shame to miss out on the Conjure Seeker tome but in truth they're not all that and can't be dual summoned

I have the same problem in finding the Tome. I still havn't found it to be honest, although I don't really use conjuration anyways as the character I was on only used Restoration and One Handed, along with Light Armour.
But yeah, I'll let everyone know if I find the loacation of one, and in which Black Book too.

Um..... I could dual summon them. Are you thinking of the Ash Guardian?

I thought Seekers were pretty decent.

I haven't found the tome in Apocrypha either; haven't checked if the assistant has it for sale though. Infact I once found a lot of skill books in Apocrypha but since then haven't come across many skill books or tomes in there... then again I haven't returned there that much at the moment.

The assistant sells every other Tome, apart from the Summon Seeker Tome.
He has even renewed his stock about 3-4 times, and I was able to buy more Destrucion Spells, but the same Conjuration ones.
Although, only since earlier today have I used Destruction and Conjuration for my character. All I used was One Handed and Restoration, along with Light Armour. But I Maxed One Handed (100 One Handed), and my Restoration is nearly Level 80, so I decided to start Maging it up.
So it could be due to my low Conjuration level, which is like... 30 odd, that makes the Summon Seeker Tome not show up in the Apprentice's Inventory.

Hmmmm... well I'm going to play through Dragonborn with another character who's a Conjurer so hopefully it'll show up for him at least.

I've been ignoring giving advice on this topic as I assumed it was a pretty easily resolved problem, but seeing so many having the same issue, despite their being quite a few copies of the book in apocrypha (sp?) has edged me to lend a hand.

The Black Book titled Filament and Filigree, found in Kolbjorn Barrow. Note that you will have had to clear the dungeon in order to obtain the book, and thus, defeat the Dragon Priest that is within the Barrow.

Open it up.

If you haven't read the book yet, proceed through it until you reach the end of it.

If you have read the book before, and completed it, simply open it up.

Now that it is completed, you should be in front of the open book with the three rewards (Should be the 'Secrets of X' rewards)

There should be an Altar to your right. At the far right end of the Altar, the Conjure Seeker Tome should be sitting atop the Altar. There should be various other loot, on my save there's a Tome of Healing Hands, A scroll of Mass Paralysis, An Unfilled Black Soul Gem, A petty soul gem, a lesser soul gem, and about 5 ruined books.

There are other copies within other Black Books, but this is by far the easiest to reference and easiest to check for. I hope this helps all those who actually have the Black Book, and to those that don't, perhaps help you set yourselves on the path to obtain it.
