Hi everyone,

I haven't played a lot yet, but my 2 week holiday is coming up and I'm gonna be all like: "Mom, more hot pockets!" (except for my mom doesn't live with me )

But anyways, I've gotten so far, that I found the Spell Tome for Sparks and used it immediately.
Unfortunately, the spell is nowhere to be found. Meaning, I still have only Flames and Healing as spell options.

Do Spell Tomes vanish without effect, if you learn them and are too low of skill?
Is there a minimum skill level for learning sparks? Or have I encountered the first bug, no 2 hours into the game?

When you find a spell tome, you pick it up. When you pick it up, you go into the menu > Books and select the spell tome. You'll instantly learn it. Then (in this case), you go to the main menu, go the MAGIC tab > Destruction > Sparks. Voila.

Sparks spell is in destruction spells. I don't think there's any skill level requirements for it since my nord was able to learn it and i don't use magic at all with it.

Been there, done that. No spell in the magic tab.
Furthermore, I just read in another thread, that the tomes do not vanish after having been learned.
Mine had a "Use" instead of a "Read" button and was gone after I used it.
Sounds buggish to me. :/

Are you sure you're looking at all of your spells and not just the ones you've already favorited? If you are, then you should try another tome or reload to before you used that one and try it again.

Tomes do vanish after using them, else you would just sell them back to the bloke you bought them from. Sparks should be listed under "destruction" in your magic menu if you did "use" it.

Alright, thanks for the hints so far, as soon as I am home, I'm gonna double-check, but the result will certainly be the same as last time.
I'm gonna start a new char though, and see if it's happening again for me, since I'm kind of the 100% guy when it comes to RPGs.
Okay then, everyone keep on enjoying this game! I certainly will.

Go to books and use your Spell Tome: Sparks. It'll go whoosh and disappear, and it'll give you a message on the top left saying "New spell learned: Sparks" or something like that. Then press tab, hold a, scroll down to Destruction, and there it is.

If the tome is not in your inventory, and you can't find the spell in your magic tab, try buying a new copy of it; if you already know the spell, you should get a message when you try to "learn" it again telling you this.
