Spellsword for returning player

Post » Fri Jul 27, 2012 1:11 am

So I'm a returning player, I got Morrowind shortly after it came out and played it almost every day for nearly 3 years but now I havent played it in years and are finally returning o this wonderfull game. Now I was thinking of making a Spellsword character, To get a good mix between Magic and melee but.. I dont know what race or birthsign to chose. and I dont know what guilds and factions to join, So I'd like some sugestions!

What race and birthsign do you think is good for a Spellsword and what guilds and factions do you think works best? Mages guild or Telvani? Fighters Guild or Redoran? And so on.

Use a Dunmer (Dark Elf) for the race, the star... i guess mage? If you're a spellsword, I guess you join Fighters Guild and Mages Guild.

Sorry, I'm not much help, I always make custom classes, like Mage-Knight. (lol)

The problem with making a Dunmer, Aspecialy with the Mage is that you will start with a mere 60 Magicka.. That isent much for spell casting. Even with the Atronach you only have 120 magicka as a Dunmer spellsword. While a Breton would have 175 and a Altmer would have 225.. Dunmer are nice, But have low magicka.. And loking closer at the Spellsword class, I'l probably replace Axe with Illusion or Mysticism as a Minor skill but other then that I do like the class, and when making my own classes I always end up having trouble desiding on what skills to get.. Well Breton and Altmer aren't really good swordsmen. I guess if you use a different race, you can train the stats and skills they lack, but that will take a while for you to get it. I recommend Dunmer anyways, it's the same race as Indoril Nerevar, whom you are supposed to be the reincarnation of.

Are you gonna play with the "Leveled Magicka" mod? Because that will greatly increase you Magicka as you level up.

It's good, the higher your level, the greater the magicka increase.

For instance, your first level up is when you reach level 2. So the leveled magicka mod will add x0.1 magicka according to your intellect. And you keep leveling, it will add .1. So by the time you reach level 30, leveled magicka will add x2.9 magicka according to your intellect. So if you have 100 intellect, and lets say hypothetically, the race you chose had no race-magicka bonus, then you'd have 100 magicka without the mod. With the mod, you get 100+290= 390 Magicka. I would definitely recommend this mod. I am not sure if it will screw up your save game though. :(
