It may seem fickle/ childish but I really hope there will be an option or a mission that will get rid of all spiders.

I am very arachnophobic and Giant Spiders on my TV screen really creeps me out, even just thinking about seeing one in the First Person mode gives me shivers. It really puts me off the game.

I hope there is like a mission that somehow gets rid of them like the main characters releases a poison or a disease that kills them all.

Or a DLC hopefully.

Or maybe an option in the options bar.

Nethertheless I know this game will be amazing and I am looking forward to it. As well as looking forward to a DLC to get rid of spiders or something:)

Its not funny to mock somebodys fears. I think the option should not be in because that would be messing with the wildlife in Skyrim. Spiders are a traditional fantasy creature but for those who fear spiders remember its a game and the creatures are digital.

Well, the point is, a phobia is a very specific problem, and it isn't something that video games should seek to fix by sheltering you from it. Arachnophobia is a problem that can happen at any time, and spiders aren't just going to will themselves out of existence because people happen to be afraid of them. This is a problem for you to solve, and you just need to convince yourself that these spiders are 100% not real.

While I feel bad for the poster and the MANY posters before them who have suggested something like this..... No, I have been waiting giant spiders for some time now. (Dwemer Spider machines just aren't the same)

Making fun of someone with a phobia is pretty shameful though. In case you guys were wondering, it's not making you look cool.

If i see them IRL I give them the boot. If I see them in-game I give then the AXE.

All these "lols he's afraid oofs piders" are pretty [censored] thick. While I don't think there's any need to remove spiders from the game, I definitely think that you guys should reflect on whether or not it's a good thing to mock people's phobias over the internet.

OP, if your phobia is pretty huge, maybe you should consider getting the PC version and modifying it so that you don't see any spiders. Although you may be disheartened by earlier comments, we do have a pretty good community that will be willing to help you every step of the way (in removing spiders from the game, not in getting over the phobia ).

Who know, there might be a mod which get rid of them. :shrug:

I am an arachnophobe too, though probably not as much as you since i don't really mind them. If anything they are an excelent enemy because many people fear spiders.

But they are also a bit cliché.

You know what I find great with arachnophobia and games? You get to exact your unholy vengeance upon them for the irrational fear the instil in you

mate i wouldent be to woried about it if your getting the pc version you can either mod them out or wait till some one does which should be like a few weeks after realease.


if your getting a console version your pretty much stumped, but wait there is a way depinding on how bad your phobia is exposer might help wether it;s a spider ingame or a real one at your local zoo.

belive me exposer helps to an extent, i meen when i see them in game im not that botherd by them unless im playing in the dark, but in real life a little will literly scare the crap out of me.

No, geez, just no. So wha, how bout the people who dont like zombies, should they have a specially dedicated option too? and the people who dislike bandits? and wha about dungeons specifically designed around spiders? Look I hate spiders IRL, but if you cannot handle a virtual spider on your monitor or tv screen, then that's just too bad.. Don't buy the game or play on PC and mod it out somehow.

Well said nobody should be sheltered from their fears you have to face them to get over them, and it is just a game so if you have Arachcophobia you all can have fun killing what you fear. Its a game remember to have fun with it.

I suffer from pretty bad arachnaphobia, and I can honestly say that the spiders in Skyrim don't bother me at all. They're really not realistic or detailed enough (which is good).

a game should make the player feel more emotions than happiness. If you fear spiders, that emotion will be added to your list. be glade fear is an enjoyable emotion. why do you think people play survival horror games. If the fear becomes unbearable, SHOUT AND DARE THE SPIDER TO KILL YOU, it takes some of the fear away.
